I will be at the fall race again this year. But they don’t do much to help them selves up there. They have all that land outside the track up there they should have a big Saturday night concert or something to help draw people out. A guy riding in a motorized bath tub and a ole Chevy van on the front stretch before the race just doesn’t cut it. Thankfully they have opened a store back up on the grounds so you can at least get some ice.

That all star race is going to be gone no matter how well it is attended. That race was an olive branch to Eddy when the took one of his dates and bolted for Austin. And don’t be surprised if they pull out of Ft. Worth altogether within the next 3-5 years.
  3. Anybody going down for this opener? Thinking about running down and checking it out this evening.
  4. Yes, big crowd on Saturday, and it was pretty good Friday night as well. Its such a nice track. I camped next to Sam Hafertepe Sr. over the weekend. Jr. was having a pretty good night in the 15H on Saturday, but those last 5 laps are hell in the Outlaws, somebody always ready to pounce. I would like to say that the staff at Cotton Bowl was exceptional over the weekend. From the time I checked in on Friday, my name was on the camping list, they asked if I had a preference on where I wanted to be. They came by and picked up the trash. The folks that worked the front gate were great, as well as the concession folks. I hope it was a successful weekend for them.
  5. Well done this weekend. Great racing with the Outlaws as well as the support classes. And the staff couldn't have been more pleasant the entire weekend. From the time that I checked in with the motorhome on Friday until I drove out of there on Sunday morning. They were just outstanding. And a big big crowd on Saturday for sure.
  6. I promise you they are not keeping that All Star race at TMS very long. My guess is 3 years tops. And maybe just 2. I viewed that as a bone they threw to Eddie after they sent the spring race to Austin. They may already have an under the table agreement on how long it will stay at TMS. And once they pull the All Star race then that leaves the Indy car race and the fall race. And if it continues to be 20 grand in the stands, they, NASCAR, won't keep putting up with that. They just won't.
  7. I am concerned about it as well. They are going to have to step up there game up there to get some folks to show up. I got concerned when SMI pull the spring date and went to Austin with it. Whats to say they won't do the same with the fall race and take it somewhere else.
  8. Well they have already sent the TMS srping race to Austin. And I highly doubt that the All Star race is going to stay at TMS for any significant amount of time. I go to the fall race up there every year, and the attendance is terrible as much as I hate to say it. So how long do they keep putting up with that on the schedule? I do suspect that things are going to get interesting in regards to schedule changes.
  9. Hamilton could have come in for fresh tires just like Max did. He and his team chose not to, they chose track position over frsh rubber. So the fact that they were not on equal rubber falls squarely on them as a team. That is a chance and risk they took.
  10. Here is a article that is on the front page of the Houston Chronicle this morning. https://digital.olivesoftware.com/olive/ODN/HoustonChronicle/shared/ShowArticle.aspx?doc=HHC%2F2021%2F11%2F01&entity=Ar00106&sk=6506EF3D&mode=text
  11. Happy Birthday to the very ones you are closest to. Hope they had a good day.
  12. I agree as well, there is nothing worse than paying good money to see a concert or a sporting event and have to put up with that. I was at that race but I watch the Saturday races from the infield and the Sunday races from the grandstands. Even though I am no fan of this administration I would not have participated.
  13. If you ever decide to go let me know. I may be able to be some help to you and your Mrs.
  14. Sounds like a fun trip. We took a long trip this summer as well. Hitech I have never been to the spring race at Talladega. But I can tell you that the fall playoff race has a lot of intensity to it in my opinion. This year they had Bull Riding in the infield, then they always have a concert on Saturday night. Which my campsites are very close to. Lots of different camping options, from very expensive, to a massive free lot across the street from the track. Next years fall race will be the same as this years, with 2 races on Saturday and then the Cup race on Sunday. I think the spring race just has a saturday xfinity race, then the Cup race. I will also be at the race in Ft. WOrth next weekend as well. But not sure how much longer I am going to continue to do that one. SMI does some of the dunmbest shit.
  15. I hear ya, I am in Moss Thorton a couple of rows from the top of the lower section. They tend to sit back down a few laps after the start or a restart. But your right it can get annoying. For the race on Monday there were a lot of folks around me that are not normally there, they were just moving to where there were open seats as a lot of people couldnt stay. I retain 6 seats for the race and had to run people out of them when I got to the stands.
  16. I think there may have been an issue where she basically raced trhough a wreck instead of checking up through all of it.
  17. I have been going to Talladega for quite some time now, but only the fall playoff race. And my campsites are on concrete so I really don't care how much it rains. I plan my days for a rainout so I can stay and catch the race.
  18. The 22 truck loading in at Talladega.
  19. He will be missed for sure. Talked to him one time when he was riding around the campground up there. He seemed to make time for all he could.
  20. I think it may also say a lot about the current promoters we have now at these tracks. I have only been to Cotton Bowl so far this year. But it is a first class facility and it is run very very well.
  21. Hope they had a big crowd. It's a nice place. I bet it was looking good in the springtime.
  22. Yeah I am not sure what really went on. I had to leave town for work and wasn't able to make it. So unless I read it on here I have no idea what really happened. But I have seen plenty of it in the past there. But sometimes they get sent to the back of the field. With that choose cone they use there a guy can sometimes work his way back to the front pretty quick though.
  23. I was wondering how things went. I wasn't able to make it, and don't do the bookface deal to know what is going on there. Sometimes you can end the punting in the pits though
