  1. I suspect if Rodney has any insight he won't be posting it until they make there announcement on the 25th. But this thread gives me hope of some promising news.
  2. And the address now is lake Houston Parkway, but if my memory serves me, it was E. Mt. Houston Rd back then, I think. Also back when Big H was dirt, Battleground Speedway was real popular and thriving as well.
  3. Sure would be nice to see HMP get something going. Such a nice facility to sit empty on the oval side. Been going there since it was dirt. But when John and Sarah ran it it was a special place from this fans perspective anyway.
  4. Nick, thanks for posting these flyers for those of us that get most of our info here on this site. I was able to make it down there for the opener, they have made some really nice improvements to that facility.
  5. The 94 just recently got engaged. His fiance ran 2nd to him in his other Lethal car. I watched the 94 cover the field earlier this yeat down at Texana as well. But he is incredibly smooth at Cotton Bowl.
  6. The 94 in the modified, and the 41T in the dwarf class had the field covered. All the other races came down to the last couple or the last lap. Excellent night of racing.
  7. It was a great night of racing up there. It’s just a nice, well run place. And the racing was off the charts.
  8. Think I will ease on up to Giddings/Paige and see how things go tonight.
  9. I had heard that they sounded a little different due to the different exhaust set up. I will be at the fall race, then I will leave there on that Monday and make my way to Arkansas to get a little work done to my motorhome then on to Talladega for the following race. I got and email from TMS today on the 2023 renewal for the All Star Race. So maybe it isn't going anywhere next year.
  10. Rodney, what do you think of the new car? I haven't made a race yet, I guess they probably sound the same as last year? Just look a little different?
  11. I'm not sure where it will end up. I will keep going and support the track when I can. And hope for the best. I will be there this fall. Rodney I don't know that I am convinced that the Nashville deal will go through. Seems like there is still a fair amount of local pushback. And now you have the North Wilksboro deal in play. Be interesting to see what they do with it next year.
  12. https://www.jayski.com/2022/05/23/marcus-smith-discusses-having-all-star-race-at-texas/ This maybe kind of reaffirms Rodney’s original post.
  13. I wasn’t able to go or even watch due to work. But glad to hear they had some people show up. I think I have mentioned it before, I still think this race is gone. I think it was a bone NASCAR threw to SMI to move a date to Austin. Hope I’m wrong, but we will see. My buddy that I camp with in the fall up there said there was a pretty decent crowd. I have to wait a few weeks to renew my fall package up there. They are building some new open air bars at the track. Have to wait and see how many seats they lose because of it first.
  14. I’m not so sure that Joe Gibbs may be laughing all the way to the bank on this deal. I suspect that his race team may supplying everything to 2311. All the way down to the pit crews. And I would also bet that Toyota is funding a large portion of it as well.
  15. This atatement above unfortunately happens to be true. And it is disappointing to see. Was not one attempt to make a pass for the win this past sunday.
  16. That was an ugly finish for sure.

I will be at the fall race again this year. But they don’t do much to help them selves up there. They have all that land outside the track up there they should have a big Saturday night concert or something to help draw people out. A guy riding in a motorized bath tub and a ole Chevy van on the front stretch before the race just doesn’t cut it. Thankfully they have opened a store back up on the grounds so you can at least get some ice.

That all star race is going to be gone no matter how well it is attended. That race was an olive branch to Eddy when the took one of his dates and bolted for Austin. And don’t be surprised if they pull out of Ft. Worth altogether within the next 3-5 years.
  19. Anybody going down for this opener? Thinking about running down and checking it out this evening.
  20. Yes, big crowd on Saturday, and it was pretty good Friday night as well. Its such a nice track. I camped next to Sam Hafertepe Sr. over the weekend. Jr. was having a pretty good night in the 15H on Saturday, but those last 5 laps are hell in the Outlaws, somebody always ready to pounce. I would like to say that the staff at Cotton Bowl was exceptional over the weekend. From the time I checked in on Friday, my name was on the camping list, they asked if I had a preference on where I wanted to be. They came by and picked up the trash. The folks that worked the front gate were great, as well as the concession folks. I hope it was a successful weekend for them.
  21. Well done this weekend. Great racing with the Outlaws as well as the support classes. And the staff couldn't have been more pleasant the entire weekend. From the time that I checked in with the motorhome on Friday until I drove out of there on Sunday morning. They were just outstanding. And a big big crowd on Saturday for sure.
  22. I promise you they are not keeping that All Star race at TMS very long. My guess is 3 years tops. And maybe just 2. I viewed that as a bone they threw to Eddie after they sent the spring race to Austin. They may already have an under the table agreement on how long it will stay at TMS. And once they pull the All Star race then that leaves the Indy car race and the fall race. And if it continues to be 20 grand in the stands, they, NASCAR, won't keep putting up with that. They just won't.
  23. I am concerned about it as well. They are going to have to step up there game up there to get some folks to show up. I got concerned when SMI pull the spring date and went to Austin with it. Whats to say they won't do the same with the fall race and take it somewhere else.
  24. Well they have already sent the TMS srping race to Austin. And I highly doubt that the All Star race is going to stay at TMS for any significant amount of time. I go to the fall race up there every year, and the attendance is terrible as much as I hate to say it. So how long do they keep putting up with that on the schedule? I do suspect that things are going to get interesting in regards to schedule changes.
