104 cars and 38 go karts ( give or take ) at TRP for their final points night. Impressive. Way to go Owen and staff!

This is a no brainer. It should be Owen Pittman and Texana Raceway Park. The car counts have been through the roof and more fans than that track has ever seen. One night 198 cars showed , another 143. Concession prices are the lowest and the food is good. Add the $1 beer specials as well. Owen and his crew , sponsors and race teams have made Texana the place to be. Granted most all promoters deserve recognition but what has happened at Texana is above and beyond expectations.

The thing that got me is Hamlin made little effort to get back above the line.

Well , it is safe to say a lot of things about 2020 have totally sucked. But one thing that stands out to me at least is the terrific job South Texas Speedway , I-37 Speedway and Texana Raceway Park , their staffs and all the race teams have done over the 2020 season. I've been going to the races for over 60 years now and this has been some of the best racing I've seen. These three South Texas tracks have stepped up with several big payday races between them that had all produced big car counts. Ever regular events have pulled good crowds and car counts. These three tracks are having their points ending season events coming the next few weeks. We fans need to thank personally Steven Whiteaker at STS , Ray Doyon at I-37and Owen Pittman at TRP for the great jobs they have done for us fans.And to top it all off and if what they have already done wasn't enough they are giving us some BIG upcoming events starting with the DTK Memorial the weekend October 23 and 24 at I-37. Following this is the 2020Clash at Texana Nov 19 , 20 and 21. Topping it off at South Texas Speedway with the $5000 to win Sportmod $3000 to win Factory Stock Jerry Whiteaker Memorial. WOW! We need to make all three of the events! Keep checking the Facebook and websites to get info on payouts and schedule of events. As of now the I-37 event is $2500 for Sportmod and Factory Stocks and $1000 for Tuners. The TRP event is $3500 to win $300 to start Factory Stocks which will bump up to $4500 if 80 cars show. Given what has happened at TRP this is a strong probability. Also $800 on Friday and $1000 on Sat for Sportmod and $1000 for the Modlites. These tracks tend to pick up additional payouts from sponsors along the way so do check and make plans to attend the three events.

199 , yes, 199 car showed up at Texana Sunday night . When the skies looked threatening and major lightening nearby Milton Hope put the spell on the weather by telling the full house crowd not to look at the lightening then it would be like it never happened. Must had worked as the rest of the night stayed dry. Good job , Milton! Once again Factory Stocks led the way with right at 6 cars putting on quite a battle. Field was so strong and deep a lot of good cars didn't make the A. A tip of the cap to Chris Morris and crew driving in from Arizona to start in 14th working his way up to 2nd before being taken out with a few laps to go. Collin Hodges ran away with the Factory Stocks and fans witnessed the rarest of nights in that Daulton Faulkner had a terrible night though no fault of his own. And if there is a hotter Limited/ Modified driver in the area than Jared Mauoin I don't know who it is. After being released from the team he had been racing (and winning) for race morning Lawrence gave him his car to drive and Maupin dominated the field. Impressive! Tell you what. ALL race track promoters deserve a ton of credit but Mr. Owen Pittman is my vote for promoter of the year. 199 cars and done by around midnight pretty good. Show moved on as steady as it could. Concession worked their tail off handling the huge crowd very well. A special tip of the hat to them and all concession workers for that matter. Job well done Mr. Pittman and staff and especially to all the drivers and their race teams

On to Texana.

Well , poopy! STS rained out. But Edna still on and hopefully a bunch of STS cars will help the classes make the 24 car threshold. We know that Factory Stock will likely double that!
