I heard the tech guy was from Dallas area and is known for thorough tech.

You nailed it about how good these drivers are. Both classes. It was a great weekend for the fans.

Wow! What a weekend of racing! Saturday night was unreal. Factory Stock was a no holds barred race ! Four cars battling rubbin and one may have thought wallin ending with a three wide turn 3, 4 and to the finish line. Folks were standing those last two laps. The sights and sounds of the sportmod race was equally exciting. Just listening to driver intros with IMCA Champions , track champions , winner $11,000 this race, $10,000 that race showed the quality of the field. And throw in a proposal to top it off! The 50 lap race was never dull which is why dirt racing is the best! No single line follow the leader for 90% of the race here! The drives of the night were Steve Whiteaker Jr. battling from the back to 4rth and Jason Ingalls doing the same all the way to 2nd! I suggest getting the Race on Texas replay and see for yourself how great this event was. Thank you Steve Whiteaker Jr. and your staff for putting on this FIRST CLASS show! And a special thanks to all the races teams who traveled hundreds of miles one way to race. Fans, start making your plans for 2020!

Beautiful day for a drive to South Texas Speedway if you are 125 miles in. Come on down and see some "big boy" racing! BTW the main event will be 50 laps!

Wow what a night at South Texas Speedway. And talk about getting value for your ticket price so many races! Much more than a time trial and a feature. And still over just short of 11! Heavy hitters are here, too many to mention. And the weather today,awesome! Mid 60's tonight with less wind. If you are a race fan you can't miss tonight!

Still not too late to head to STS. Weather is awesome with temps staying in the 60's until after midnight. This is going to be great!

A special racer for sure. He stands out in a state that has a ton of greats over the years.

Factory Stock looked pretty equal and so many Sportmods were bad fast. I failed to mention that Abbey is here also and no telling who will show up today. It has been several years where weather is not factor and the cars are showing up.Can't wait for tonight.

Got to practice and the pits were pretty full. Was told there were 49 Sportmods with most of them from out of town. There looked like around 25 Factory Stocks. And let me tell you Whiteaker was flying as were Hiebert,Westover and others that I don't know. This weekend is going to be something else. Track looked pretty smooth and FAST! There should be 100 cars between the two classes so you DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!!!!

Practice day!!!! The race track comes alive tonight to begin what should be a very exciting weekend of racing. And the weather is going to be near perfect! So make your plans to be at South Texas Speedway this weekend. If you never been to STS there is no better time than now for your first trip!!!

Well , the weekend we all been waiting for is upon us! With the weather forecast being so terrific it should pull a ton of cars! Add to that all the past Champions expected even makes it better. And with the Factory Stock rules more in line there should be a huge increase there. This is an event you do not want to miss!

Some of the biggest names around on their way. All the previous Shootout winners will be there. You can't miss this one! Only three more days until practice which in the past has been interesting. Can't wait!!!

Here we are less than a week to go to the South Texas Speedway Shootout!!! Should be a great car count with cars coming from all over Texas. You DON'T want to miss this one!! Most of the South Texas area racers , who are some of best in the state , will be racing some of the best from other areas of the state.BE THERE!!!

That sale sign has been up for maybe 10 years. I see the price came down. There was a youtube video and it was selling for $990,000 before the bridge construction crew leased it. BTW the bridge is held up. Looks like 2 more years minimum.

What a great 2019 season for the South Texas race fan! South Texas Speedway , Texana Raceway Park and I-37 Speedway and their racers gave the fans fun and exciting nights throughout the season. Now there is one more to go and what better way to end the season than at the fastest dirt track around with the South Texas Speedway Shootout Dec6 and 7 with Dec 5 being a practice night. With $5000 to win and $300 to start for the Topless Sportmods , $750 to win Friday night and $1000 to win Saturday night for Factory Stocks and $500 to win on Saturday night for Sport Compacts should draw an exciting car count. Add to that many contingency awards and the Three Track Challenge there is a lot of money to be won! So make your plans to be in Corpus Christi for the Shootout and keep checking South Texas Speedway on Facebook for updates as this race gets closer. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!!! Maybe Nick Holt can make this one!

I have to admit this was the best season NASCAR had in years. Let's hope they don't tweak anything for next year. And keep Brain France as far away as possible. As for race track attendance NASCAR is doing better than many NFL teams. The only thing they might do is look at the stats and those tracks that have big gaps between cars for most of the race be shorten.

With the conclusion of the Aaron Hudgeons Memorial three of the four South Texas tracks delivered with great racing! Friday night at Texana Raceway Park was quite a challenge after the cold front blew through. High 40's with gusty winds to boot made it tough on those who went. But the racing was great. Not quite the car count we had hoped for but those who showed were some of the best around! 35+ of Factory Stock and Sport mod put on an awesome weekend. Saturday night was about as opposite to Friday night as you could get. A bit of a chill in the air but no wind to speak of. The first ten laps of the Factory Stocks with Faulkner and Elasko running side by side with Ben Mikulencak and Dixon doing the same right behind them! And never touching each other! A major tip of the hat to the track prep crew. Several drivers praised how smooth the track was both nights and there was 3 and sometimes 4 wide racing both nights! For those who made all three events now we have 5 or 6 weeks to get to the Grand Finale , the South Texas Shootout in Corpus Christi. With $5000 to win $300 to start for Sportmods should bring in the best Texas has to offer. Put them on the wide very fast race track the excitement will be from start to finish. South Texas Speedway has come up with some unique ways of redraw in the past which adds to the fun. So far this will a topless event for Sportmods . We shall see if more cool stuff is down when the race procedures come out. So make sure and pencil in December 6 and 7 to be at South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi to top off the 2019 South Texas racing season! You won't be disappointed!
