  1. Mr. Thorn wasn't very happy with Mr. Smith after the ol bump and run was used on him.
  2. Hitech , yes I like great racing. And for40+ years CCS and SAS was that. But the first time I went to STS I was hooked on dirt.I can't get over the driving of the Sportmod drivers maneuvering their cars in tight spaces with those small tires. Factory Stocks deliver great full field racing wherever they are racing.Throw in the occasional Sprint car , Late Model or Modified show even better. If an asphalt STS could deliver that kind of racing that would be great.
  3. If STS became asphalt I would go check it out depending on classes, format and car count.
  4. I'll put it this way. If STS was paved I would be making a lot of trips to I-37 and Texana.I grew up at CCS and SAS and it was great. But dirt is it for me now. Racing is simply much better.
  5. Without a doubt dirt. Asphalt could never match the car counts or excitement dirt does.
  6. I forgot to mention the announcing at the Clash was top notch. Well done Mr. Rodriguez!
  7. Well Texana Raceway Park and the racers that participated lived up to expectations! Great show and , get this , with all the racing going on the races were done around 10:30 BOTH nights! Now it moves on to South Texas Speedway for the Jerry Whiteaker Memorial Dec10 &11 with practice on Dec 9. This time the Sportmods will be racing for$5000 to win with Factory Stocks going for $2000 to win. Friday night STS Pure Stocks and E-Mods will be in support. Going to be a great show to end the 2021 racing season in South Texas. See South Texas Speedway Facebook for details.
  8. The event just got better! Glad to hear you are calling the event.Bring a lot of water. Gonna be a ton of cars to talk about!

    oh lord

The answer to NASCAR not doing much is the "Boys will be boys" attitude they have taken for awhile now. Number 1 is generally the fans love it when stuff like this happen.Crowds get real loud and the WWE fan comes out. Doesn't matter if it is your local track , NASCAR or everything in between. Number 2 is it gets a lot of press. People start talking about it. Sadly those who don't like this kind of thing are in the minority. As long as it happens only a few times a season it goes on. But if it starts happening often then it starts having a negative effect that sometimes is hard to come back from.
  10. The 2021 Clash at Texana Raceway Park in Edna , Tx is almost here! Headlined by the $5000 to win $300 to start Factory Stock event and supported by IMCA Mods , Sportmods and STLMS Late Models this will be a weekend not to be missed! You don't want to miss this one! Factory Stock qualifying (for provisional and $$$) and practice for other classes Thursday the 18th with qualifying heats on Friday the 19th and Features on Sat the 20th gives us a ton of racing to see! Check out Texana Raceway Park on Facebook for the details. And oh yes , great concessions at TRP too!
  11. Can you imagine the nightmare NASCAR would had faced if the regular season champion who led the most laps in NASCAR history( I thought I heard someone say) won 9 races and 4 of the last 5 coming into this race had finished behind Truex and lost the championship? Kyle Larson is the most deserving champion in some time.
  12. Well being it was an airstrip I doubt there was much , if any , barriers to keep cars on the track or in front of spectators.
  13. Viral Video: Kid Asked To Announce Start Of Speedway Race Says, ‘Let’s Go, Brandon!’ – True News Hub
  14. Well , Octoberfast at Cotton Bowl Speedway is in the books. What a great weekend with 150+ cars racing. Feature events were all good with some hard racing going on. Tim Homeyer, the Factory Stock winner , ended up pocketing $5200 in purse and bonus money if I heard right. Next up is the DTK event at I-37 Speedway October 29 and 30. This event should be just as entertaining.
  15. Just want to give a shout out to Kelli Stavast for her quick thinking about what the chant was in the post race interview wiith Brandon Brown.
  16. Former driver John Wes Townley, 31, dies in Georgia shooting (msn.com)

    bristol

I have found the best way to watch NASCAR is to watch the last 20 or 30 laps. Yes the finishes at Bristol were exciting. Can't say anything else because I was watching some exciting college football at the time.

At least the best guy won.
  19. Now that the South Texas tracks are wrapping up their regular seasons it is time to think about their big season enders. These events usually bring huge car counts and large payouts. It all starts off with Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige , Texas on Oct8 and 9 with the Octoberfast event. Next will be the DTK Memorial event at I-37 Speedway in Pleasanton on Nov 6 followed by the huge 2021 Clash at Texana Raceway Park in Edna on Nov 19&20. South Texas Speedway brings the big race events to a close with two events. First on Dec3 &4 with the Jerry Whiteaker Memorial for Sportmods and Factory Stocks and ending with the STXR events on Dec10& 11 for Sportmods , Mods and Factory Stocks. Payouts and other classes running haven't been posted yet so be sure and check each tracks website/Facebook for additional info as it becomes availiable. I've been to these events and the racing at all four facilities is awesome. So plan to make as many as you can . You will not be disappointed!
  20. Pays off showing up every week.
  21. Damn , Bob Jenkins .Robin Miller , Don Everly , Charlie Watts . Been a bad few weeks.
  22. The big screw up was taking away the Brickyard 400. Even though most of them were somewhat boring it was still a prestigious and special event to the drivers and a big one to win. It is not any longer. The launch ramp in that turn should not be there. True drivers should be aware of it but anything that can launch a 3400 lb car like that is dangerous especially if it happens in a pack.
