  1. This particular forum is completely neglected by the promoters. It’s unreal.
  2. 105 was packed Saturday night. They had a pretty lengthy delay to get the racing started, the ambulance had to take a spectator off the grounds for some sort of treatment. Had to wait for it to get back on the grounds. So it turned into a bit of a long night. They have a pretty good sized grandstand in the pit area, it was full as well as the main grandstand. Track was in perfect shape to start the races for as hot and dry as it is up here.
  3. Well he was on rails Saturday night. After the limited race, they stopped all the cars that finished the feature on the front stretch, and all the drivers got out and did a group photo with Howard Willis. The 91 parked close to where I was sitting and I could tell he was a pretty young fella. the thing that surprised me the most is that when you have that many cars show up in one class, that creates a pretty stout field top to bottom in the A Main. It was an impressive run he had for sure.
  4. Arob I haven’t seen him race probably as much as you have, but I have seen him race a couple different classes at Cotton Bowl. But the run he made Saturday through that stout of a field was fun to watch. The track was really rubbered up when they ran their feature, and he had that 91 hooked up on the bottom of the track. Looks like he might be pretty young as well?
  5. I was there, the 91 was incredibly fast, made a great run through the field. Not sure he would have been able to get around the 9 or not if he would have had a few more laps. The 9 led green to checkers, that usually happens for a reason.
  6. I don’t remember it happening up there in the past. Happened last time I was up there. But there are pulling a bunch of cars as well these days. May have something to do with it. But I’m a double file restart guy myself. And I like the fact that the scoring pylon and lap counter works at 105.
  7. And that was the case this weekend as well Arob. But I will give them credit in the fact that they hold off as long as they can before they go to a single file restart. And they also don’t cut laps. The last race I went to cottonbowl, they were quick to go to a single file restart and they also cut laps on a couple of classes. I’m not a fan of cutting laps.
  8. If I heard the track announcer correctly last night, that race the 19th has over 20k in the purse for the limited class alone. It will pay good money just to make the A Main. If I am in town I am going to go back for it. I suspect they will draw a nice showing of limited mods for sure. The last time I was out there was for the Texas Grand a couple years ago, and it draws a pretty good crowd. But I was surprised by the crowd size last night, it was hot, and a big turnout.
  9. Made a trip out to 105 Speedway last night. Been a couple years since I had been out there. It’s alive and well, fun night.

When I go to an auction, I walk away if I think something is way over priced and it is not that big on my priority list. Also when I go to an auction, if there is something I want, I can promise you I take it home with me, no matter what it is worth. All in the eye of the beholder I guess. If FOX or NBC really wanted that series, I'm pretty confidant it doesn't end up in CW's hands.

Maybe they ended up with it because nobody else wanted it?
  12. Thanks for the info. So they are taking donations for a memorial race for them?
  13. Hey top can you help out with some more of the back story on this.
  14. That’s a great idea, catch both tracks the same weekend. Because I have not been to HOT as well. Need to jump in the motorhome and go to both tracks. You always have to wonder how long the tracks that are either in town or very close to town can hang on. I don’t think Knoxville has any thing to worry about, but some of the others probably don’t receive that kind of support from the community.
  15. I need to get up to that place.
  16. Thanks top shelf, it’s a mess, but at least I don’t have to move out, many others were not as fortunate. I had every intention of going to the races but was managing freezers and refrigerators through the motorhome generator. I was able to make the previous race, and I am truly excited about the current direction. I just hope that Mr. Owen hangs with it and produces the results as he has at his other venues. HMP is still a very nice facility.
  17. That’s great news and good to hear. Took a hit from a tornado on Thursday so wasn’t able to make it tonight. The place has always had an upside that just needs to be tapped properly.

  19. If they didn’t want a repeat winner under the yellow flag then It may be a conspiracy. that’s not how you decide races.
  20. Yes, they wasted 2-3 laps before they thru the previous red flags as well. I’m not sure how there rules read as far as how they are required to finish a race, but it was an odd ending for sure. There was no bigger example of the Thrill of Victory, and The Agony of Defeat in that finish.
