  1. Rails, man it sounds like a real race car should, deep throaty sound at time just flat ass loud. Love that exhaust system, cool to see flames when they let out of the throttle too. Old car pitch was higher, this one is awesome. Sounded bas ass at COTA when they were on the backside and you could hear them coming.
  2. Not too deflect any blame on TMS or NASCAR but as this race progressed there was not much in tire falloff. I confirmed with some crew chiefs and a couple of tire changers I know. This is imperative I think we need to leave the place alone all the changes never have let the track get beat up like Atlanta was and Fontana is. Hell they were gonna reconfigure Fontana and let it sit and get old and it was the best race last season.
  3. Part of the problem was all the favorites got wrecked early. I was sitting with a very high ranking team official that mentioned a few times the tire were not falling off. Again I give Goodyear a pass this is a new car, tire, wheel and package, No need to slam them. NASCAR sent a man out to tell the media how they ****ed up. Most major sports, which NASCAR is own up about 3 weeks after. It sucks saying you screwed the pooch. For real y'all we could all go to any race track around the country (take our blinders off) and find lots of problems and flaws. Ray Charles, Ronnie Milsap and Stevie Wonder can see where this All Star Race will end up, Nashville Fairgrounds. Will that make it better? You cannot do this at a po dunk track, I'd get rid of it instead.
  4. That's great, I was there just telling you what I thought. These articles are a dime a dozen and that's why we all enjoy reading and writing them.
  5. The place had lots of people there for a change. The race had it's moments with a good wreck and an ending that will be discussed all week. TMS needed that, so di the All Star race. I talked to a bunch of people here this weekend concerned about the future of TMS and this event gave it a pulse. The people did a good job on 1. Blake Shelton that brought a lot of asses and 2. After the race a Banda MS concert after I told Bobby I would have never, ever thought I would hear the horns and bass of Tejano/Conjunto echoing through North Texas after a race. The last one because I saw lots of Hispanic folks headed to the infield postrace concert that I can promise you would not have been there without that addition. A short, mostly entertaining race a great way to get some new fans along with a guy named Suarez doing good things. It's a win, NASCAR will take them however they can get them.
  6. That is a great point, seems like Penske is getting all the love.
  7. Ron best part of that was when the 5 spotter said "he ran us over" or something like that and Larson responded.. "no he didn't"

  15. Loved Tim Yon he would head to race at SAS time to time when dad raced there and we would go watch them at Austin on Fridays. Those Austin Super Stocks were so so great with him, Bobby Joe, Bucky all those dudes.

On top of that the site now secured and the url is HTTPS, that's massive! Let's take this ol girl, well now young girl and us it to the fullest this is your site and lots of great things can happen here. I frequent forums across the country that are turds... we have a great one!
  18. yep you called it and that one is getting a little snoozy as well.
  19. I agree this isn't a dirt track, a dirt race or dirt racing car. NASCAR trying too hard co-op with WOO at TMS that may help in lots of ways for everyone.
  20. Our sport has always been the same I know on pavement the 5-7 year cycle was let's set up a "beginner class". That works for about a month until a ringer jumps in and becomes a great beginner. While at the top of the chain the top class begins to suffer because of $ and the fact that the second class in line not quite as $ but getting more $ every year is a better option to 1. afford and 2. be competitive. Eventually, sooner than later the top class gets to 5-7 cars and it has to be abandoned and the second class gets to do a little more to embrace some of the fall out of those that have nowhere to race. All the while the beginner class has really made some strides and somehow with those affordable rules and ease to race has really gotten fast!!! Somewhere in the mix there is a middle class that really has nothing because nobody is moving up and all the moving down is to the second class so in reality you have 2 duds and 2 studs when it comes to race divisions. That second class becomes premier and within 2 years is thriving and getting to be about 3 years from where that long lost first class was ... over and over.. That beginner class has so damn many cars and about 10 are really fast, we have to split this thing up to make it fair for all parties. At that point that beginner class is really more of a mid level as it has evolved as well so you know what we need? A new affordable option, let's set up a new class! Still pavement, when we lost TSRS they warped into what the street stocks were. Nobody to fault but everyone needed a place to race. I remember clear as day around the 2010's I was asked what classes do we need to race? I gave 4, there were 8, 3 were strong I lost that debate all 8 raced many of those had 10 or less cars why run them all? Everyone needs a place to race well hell how do we get them all here for crying out loud lol. Nothing like a full card of racing on paper and a shell of it on the race track. A few times I've seen classes left off and an uproar happens, it gets added back and all 4 show back up. Dirt? I don't know Mods, Limited Mods are solid don't mess with that although I recall going to McAllen many years and there were Mods for miles until the Sp Mods came along. To me and I don't know shit the IMCA stock car is what you do if you want to run a stock car, love the Factories but they seem to be on that pavement path up there. Beginner classes seem to be the fall back answer, IMO for dirt these Jr Limited/Eco Mod are the way to go this is a great way to learn how to race on dirt, what you will drive as you PROGRESS, learn car control and hell have a car you can PROGRESS with. Again I'm not a dirt pro and never claim to be but if I were a young driver again here in Texas trying to learn how to race I would love to learn in one of those. It's all a cycle, I call it the 410 cycle (not picking on SA) because all it does is keep looping around and around. However these dirt tracks seem to have their shit in order because most of them are well attended and have healthy pits. IMCA to me is a gift, wish we had that on pavement. Again I just watch all this and have for most of my years I love them mention earlier racing in and of itself has not changed, just the people but you know what look around we live in a different world. At some point young bucks will saying I want racing to be like it was way back in 2022.
  21. I'm old, I was told never take your helmet off.
  22. My thoughts on this topic because I cannot type thanks Bobby we did good. https://www.spreaker.com/user/revvedupsportsshow/ep47-racing-right-now-from-russ-withbobb?utm_campaign=episode-title&utm_medium=app&utm_source=widget
  23. The gulf coast has been ravaged by storms in the last week and MIS was not spared. Massive damage has fallen upon the race specifically electrical and lighting damage. This weekend's season opener has been postponed and repairs/replacement of those items will begin to get MIS ready for the next scheduled event on April 30th.
