  1. NASCAR legend Cale Yarborough, 84, has passed away according to numerous press reports. Cale had 83 career wins and won three straight NASCAR Cup championships from 1976-1978 and four Daytona 500s. He was truly one of the greats of the sport.
  2. I note that you are still a member in good standing, 24nomo. You, and others who have stirred the pot on here over the years, only get edited/deleted when you cross my well-established posting guidelines. As most of you know, I had a huge problem with COTA when my friend Tavo was forced out by Epstein, et al, who played hardball during the process. It was not pretty. How do I know this? Well, Tavo and I were (and still are) friends and he confided in me as this all came down. I have respected his request that I keep his confidential communications to myself and I will continue to do so, so don't ask. I have publicly expressed my negative thoughts regarding the "takeover' over the years and 24nomo (and a few others) have used the LSSZ forums to mock me and others with similar views. I respect that and as long as 24nomo continues to not cross the posting guidelines, he can nicely mock and stir the pot within the guidelines.

  7. Lots of work, Josh, but I'm sure it all pays off. Your dad would be proud.
  8. USMTS returns to RPM Speedway in 2024 Adding more firepower to the 2024 schedule for the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt, the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, will host the series for the first time in three seasons on Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, 2024. The USMTS has seen eight trips to the semi-banked 1/4-mile dirt oval. Most recently, Dereck Ramirez topped the Texas Spring Nationals here in 2021, along with Terry Philips winning the first of the two nights of racing. The debut event in 2012 was rained out but the series returned in 2013 with Rodney Sanders getting the win. Johnny Scott also won in 2013 and Ramirez won the USMTS North Texas Nationals presented by Penske Racing Shocks in 2020. In November 2020, the track hosted the USMTS along with several USRA divisions at the 3rd Annual Summit Southern Nationals, Jack Sartain got his first win on opening night while the final two nights went to dirt late model standout Brandon Sheppard. This year’s show will pay $5,000 to win the Summit USMTS main event each night, and will be the fourth dirt track in the Lone Star State that the series will visit before Memorial Day Weekend. The RPM Speedway is a semi-banked 1/4-mile dirt oval located southeast of Crandall on US 175 to CR 4106 (Bud Stoy Rd. exit) to the intersection of CR 4104 at 1267 Co Rd 4104, Crandall, TX 75114.
