  1. Ryan was pretty decent at Houston Mortorsports Park a few years back.
  2. Didn't Slider have a strong on-line presence in the past?
  3. USMTS fires up 2024 with four nights in North Texas The 26th season featuring America’s premier powerhouse of dirt modified racing kicks off the 2024 campaign with a huge doubleheader weekend in the Lone Star State for the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt. Fire lights the fuse on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24, with the 9th Annual Summit USMTS Texas Winter Nationals at the Hunt County Raceway in Greenville, Texas, and then blasts off the next weekend at the Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2. Both North Texas venues will host an open practice on Thursday night from 6-9 p.m. before the two doubleheaders. All four shows will pay $5,000 to win for the Summit USMTS Modifieds—a possible $20,000 to sweep the first four features of 2024. Returning to the former Superbowl Speedway for the first time since 2019, the Hunt County Raceway is a 1/4-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 5.0 miles south of Greenville on SR 34, then west on FM 1903 to 437 FM-1903, Greenville, TX, 75402. The USMTS debuted here in 2014 with Johnny Scott taking the win and his twin brother, Stormy Scott, grabbing the next one three months later. Cade Dillard won the 2016 event and Ryan Gustin captured the last event here on June 4, 2019. For more information, follow Hunt County Raceway on Facebook, call (469) 964-2224 or email. After a thriller to open the 25th Anniversary season last year, fans can expect more of the same when the USMTS returns to Kevin Sustaire’s Rocket Raceway Park. Eventual Grant Junghans USMTS Rookie of the Year Tom Berry Jr. bested veteran Terry Phillips and a record 85 entries on the first night while Jake Timm topped the rain-delayed Sunday show. Meanwhile, eventual USMTS national champ Dustin Sorensen topped the opening night in 2022 with the finale of the 12th Annual Texas Spring Nationals going to Tyler Davis—the eventual Summit USRA Modified National Champion. Prior to that, the series was rained out in 2019 when the track was called 82 Speedway. Before that, it was known as East Texas Speedway and Philip Houston won the first USMTS contest here on June 25, 2015. For more information, check out RocketRacewayPark.com and follow on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Summit USMTS superstars expected for the two opening weekends include five-time USMTS titlist Rodney Sanders, four-time champ Jason Hughes, Jim Chisholm, Dereck Ramirez, Tanner Mullens, Jake O'Neil, Dan Ebert, Tyler Wolff, Zack VanderBeek, Cayden Carter, Will Krup, Darron Fuqua, Carlos Ahumada Jr., Jeremy Nelson, Gary Christian and many more. 6. Great example of good folks working together for the good of the sport!
  7. Not sold yet. He would like to sell it and will post soon.
  8. Tavo Owners of F1 events obviously attend each other's events and has little to do with this discussion. And I'm pretty sure that any Texas short track would gladly issue Tavo free VIP passes (or suite, if available) if he were to ask.
  9. NASCAR legend Cale Yarborough, 84, has passed away according to numerous press reports. Cale had 83 career wins and won three straight NASCAR Cup championships from 1976-1978 and four Daytona 500s. He was truly one of the greats of the sport.
  10. I note that you are still a member in good standing, 24nomo. You, and others who have stirred the pot on here over the years, only get edited/deleted when you cross my well-established posting guidelines. As most of you know, I had a huge problem with COTA when my friend Tavo was forced out by Epstein, et al, who played hardball during the process. It was not pretty. How do I know this? Well, Tavo and I were (and still are) friends and he confided in me as this all came down. I have respected his request that I keep his confidential communications to myself and I will continue to do so, so don't ask. I have publicly expressed my negative thoughts regarding the "takeover' over the years and 24nomo (and a few others) have used the LSSZ forums to mock me and others with similar views. I respect that and as long as 24nomo continues to not cross the posting guidelines, he can nicely mock and stir the pot within the guidelines.
  11. I wonder how many drones made unintentional contact...
  12. You can credit Jay Hallas with this positive development.
  13. This is one of the longest running threads on LSSZ. And one of the most interesting.
  14. Sounds like there's some big-time stuff going on behind the scenes...
  15. Lots of work, Josh, but I'm sure it all pays off. Your dad would be proud.
  16. USMTS returns to RPM Speedway in 2024 Adding more firepower to the 2024 schedule for the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt, the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, will host the series for the first time in three seasons on Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, 2024. The USMTS has seen eight trips to the semi-banked 1/4-mile dirt oval. Most recently, Dereck Ramirez topped the Texas Spring Nationals here in 2021, along with Terry Philips winning the first of the two nights of racing. The debut event in 2012 was rained out but the series returned in 2013 with Rodney Sanders getting the win. Johnny Scott also won in 2013 and Ramirez won the USMTS North Texas Nationals presented by Penske Racing Shocks in 2020. In November 2020, the track hosted the USMTS along with several USRA divisions at the 3rd Annual Summit Southern Nationals, Jack Sartain got his first win on opening night while the final two nights went to dirt late model standout Brandon Sheppard. This year’s show will pay $5,000 to win the Summit USMTS main event each night, and will be the fourth dirt track in the Lone Star State that the series will visit before Memorial Day Weekend. The RPM Speedway is a semi-banked 1/4-mile dirt oval located southeast of Crandall on US 175 to CR 4106 (Bud Stoy Rd. exit) to the intersection of CR 4104 at 1267 Co Rd 4104, Crandall, TX 75114.
