  1. This issue has reared its ugly head again. The city is saying that the area of comanche park where the track resides no longer meets several statutory requirements of State law. There is a movement already going to try and right this.
  2. Just wanted to say we ran Saturday night at Texana with our 600 and had a great time. The races moved along in a very timely manner. Our class was done racing by 11ish. Would of been done faster but we had one of the 600's take a wild ride down the front stretch and the driver had to be removed by paramedics. The driver ended up being all right and i think just got a pretty good bell ringer. One suggestion I would make to the track while I was standing there and they were tending to the driver, is that i heard the ambulance wasn't running. This isn't a bash at the track or anything to start a war because the medical people they had at the track were spot on and very good at what they were doing. They had already called for and ambulance and fire truck to cut the cage within a pretty quick time of assessing the situation. My suggestion would be that if the ambulance isn't working have a Polaris side by side or a golf cart with all medical supplies needed so someone doesn't have to go back and forth between the ambulance. Also it would be good to invest in a backboard for the ambulance. Once again no dig at the track they handled the situation very good and the medics on scene at the track were definitely on their game. The other thing that was pretty amazing and I think other tracks should follow suit on this. We were told if we wanted to hot lap we had to go to the infield to hot lap. It didn't make sense to us till I noticed that that pretty much made everyone pack the track which I know is always an issue for tracks. Plus having all the cars in the infield made the pace of the hotlaps go quicker. Once again great track, great racers, great fans thanks Owen for allowing us to come race at the track.

  5. Here is the updated pictures with the wrap on the car.

  7. Here is our 2020 car. Brand new chassis after bending our other one up last year. We are taking our time with this car as our first race wont be until June. Due to other commitments and my son being born in May we decided to wait.
  8. Matty D will get a win before this year is up. He is in great equipment and he is a hell of a wheel man. He's known for getting the very most out of a car. Took subpar equipment and made it decent equipment on many occasion. What I like about Wood Brothers and Penske is they are all in the same equipment not like LFR and Gibbs or Petty with Childress. The secondary teams usually get hand me down stuff and occasionally get the good stuff kind of like when Matty D got a new car at Bristol last year and Bubba got a new car and equipment from Childress at Indy.
  9. It doesn't matter if 50,000 seats were removed or not. There is a seating capacity and they filled it, there was still well over 100,000 people there and the infield was packed and off the charts. Put aside your hates for the new nascar and look at what is happening. There is a resurgence and in turn that is reaching down into the lower levels. This whole grassroots campaign has been great for the sport. When the speedweeks at New Smyrna sells out and that East Bay and Volusia were packed with sprint cars, midgets, late models and the stands were packed this is a good thing. Steve O'Donnell and Steve Phelps have this sport pointed in the right way and with this new car coming out next year it can only get better.
  10. From Jayski: The postponed Daytona 500 earned a 4.2 rating and 7 million viewers for Fox network on Monday. The race started just after 4:00pm/et. Before being delayed on Sunday, Fox TV ratings were up 19% over 2019 with more than 10 million viewers There has been a resurgence of NASCAR, I don't know whats causing it but there is a resurgence, Chip Wylde (Daytona President) said that all tickets for the 500 had been sold before Thursday. I watched almost all of the race Monday from my phone while at work and it was nice because when I left work I left the broadcast on and ran it through the speakers of my truck. I have renewed interest in NASCAR because of listening to Dale Jr's Podcast as well as Door Bumper Clear Podcast. So haters gone hate
  11. I understand it is your cornerstone sponsor but a little more info would be nice. We were putting together a deal to purchase a older beast asphalt chassis for this race and now I have to explain to the driver and owner that this race is "axed" because of a conflict between AAP and their sponsorship of TSR who has nothing to do with the series. Some people have already spent money on hubs, tires, wheels.
  12. Just asking how is the Elite Non Wing Sprint Cars presented by Abilene Powder Coating a direct conflict to Advanced Auto Parts and their Sponsorship of Tony Stewart Racing?
  13. What how Ricky pulled out to pass and then Byron pulled down. Yeah Jeff Gordon isn't going to mention it when that is his old ride.
  14. Well since Timmy hasn't done it yet, even though the race hasn't been completed. Did you see the stands yesterday. They were packed. I honestly hate to see this for NASCAR first race of the year, sell out, President Trump, the race itself it was shaping up to be a good day and then the rains hit. Now they run at 4pm est or 3pm our time, the stands wont be as full as yesterday and a lot of their main fan base will be at work. Luckily I can pull it up on my phone and watch through the directv app. I wished they would of run it later but with them running in Vegas next it is a quick turnaround for the teams as the haulers have to leave Tuesday evening to go to the west coast.
  15. Yes he blocked, they all were blocking or would have blocked. Where the problem is that no one has mentioned is why the he should of blocked and that it was totally pointless for him to do it. Yes you are racing and its part of the superspeedway game but Logano was a lap and half to two laps short on fuel. So why block when you are going to have to pit anyway. Even as much as they tried to save fuel they still hadn't saved enough. maybe a different story if he was on same pit sequence but he wasn't.
  16. I posted this once before, this is what needs to be done: What would be a neat idea to do is this. Take away the second races at tracks except, Daytona, Talladega. Every track gets one race and they get to choose their weekend. Do away with Indy, that track is only for Indy Cars, the only successful NASCAR race was the first one. So, these tracks would only have one race weekend: Atlanta, Phoenix, Fontana, Texas, Chicago, Kansas, Bristol, Martinsville, Pocono, New Hampshire, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Kentucky, Homestead, Michigan, Richmond, Dover Road Courses: Infineon, Watkins Glen, The Roval-- Will go to a rotation base. Every year you throw in different road courses, there’s enough out there you can do this. So here is my plan you still run 36 races a year. All main tracks will get at least one race a year except Daytona and Talladega--They each get two. The Daytona 500, and Firecracker 400 stay as same weekends. So, the remaining tracks (including road courses) select a weekend to race. The remaining 16 races go into a lottery, any track that is 3/8 of a mile and bigger and not a track on the current schedule can put their name into this lottery. So, tracks like Nashville, Iowa, Pensacola, Myrtle Beach, Mobile, Cota, Sebring (you get the idea) get a NASCAR race. Then for the xfinity and truck series all races that are run at the major tracks are run same weekend. The tracks that get the lottery picks get a Cup Series race, the tracks that didn't get picked in that lottery stay in and then they have a shot at an Xfinity or Truck Series race and that goes on rotation as well(so let’s say Pensacola gets a Cup race in 2020, in 2021 they can get a Xfinity or Truck race, then in 2022 you restart the process over again. The Clash and All-Star race go to a rotation amongst tracks that anyone can enter Other Stipulations do away with the chase wipe it out. Do away with guaranteed starting spots the fastest 40 cars make it, if Kyle Busch or Jimmie Johnson screw up in qualifying and don't make the field oh well. When it comes to Lottery Pick tracks there is NO TESTING allowed and those races are ran in 1 Day. 2-30 min practice sessions, 2 Lap Qualifying, and then 150 to 200 lap shootouts with a 5-minute halfway break. I think this will bring back some excitement, will let you get into tracks and areas that have never been in before or haven't been in in a long time.
  17. Always wanted to drive one of Ed Hyder's Hyder Hawk Supermodified.
  18. I've watched that video from Crisp multiple times and I am still trying to figure out what exactly Pollard did wrong.
  19. I support the sport more than you know. best of luck to her but she tears up a lot of stuff. I think there is a lot more deserving drivers of a ride than her. Its just like Danica she held that seat at SHR for way to long. She tore up a lot of equipment but because she could keep bringing money to the table she kept her seat when there was other drivers who were better but just didn't bring the money. All of this has been proven when Almirola got into the seat and immediately that car went from a top 25 car to a top 10-15. We have seen what the 44 truck can do with Ross Chastain behind the wheel of that truck and that wont happen with Natalie behind the wheel. She will do good at the plate tracks but in the meat of the season she will be a field filler. I mean I get it for Al its all about business he has someone paying him good money for that seat, but I think there is honestly better drivers for the spot. This is where we are with the sport, until we go back to drivers who get their rides because of talent not pocketbooks this will always be an argument.
  20. Well at least the fab guys at Niece will be busy. I'm sorry she might be able to drive sports cars but she still hasn't shown me anything in a truck or arca car except that money can definitely buy her a ride. If it wasn't for deep pockets and her looks she wouldn't have a ride.
  21. Well then I hope you told them to tell their tour guides they need to spout some truth. I know I had to correct him when we were at the drag strip and he said the 2 of John Force's daughters still race. I had to step in and correct him that only 1 still races.
  22. Interesting note that I heard last week while in Charlotte. We did a tour of the speedway, drag strip, and dirt track. The World Finals at the Dirt track are sold out of Camping spots and seats for the next 5 years. I asked the tour guide who has worked at Charlotte for many years, "What does that tell you?" He said people love the dirt racing and the show, no matter how dusty and dry it gets.
  23. Hailie Deegan can drive circles around Danica. She has won 3 races in the Old NASCAR KN West series and ran the last 2 seasons in the KN East and West Series and made 5 ARCA starts last year. Her father is Brian Deegan the founding member of the Metal Mullisha and the Godfather of Free Style Motorcross. She has raced off road trucks, bandelros, legends, late models. She has done really good in all those series. I have followed here career and she has taken her time and multiple full seasons in a vehicle before moving to the next. She hasn't jumped classes to fast. Some people say she is over aggressive and tears a lot of stuff up but I just say that was the KN West series.
  24. I think this was the best move for Hailie personally. She had a deal with Toyota but there is so many up and coming drivers in the Toyota camp, that even being who she is and a great marketable person, she would get lost in the shuffle. If you don't think that is an issue now look at the situation at JGR and LFR. There are other drivers in the lower ranks that Toyota is trying to push forward but there is no where for them to go. At least with her in a Ford there is options for Ford to place her. The Deegan family has a long relationship with Ford through her dad Brian.
