  1. James did provide an update on the circle track on San Antonio Racers Reunion Facebook Page. Maybe he can push that update over to here.
  2. I know its been already stated but any asphalt track that is built is better than what you have now, 1 active track, 1 track being used as a storage facility, 1 track being wasted in the weeds, and 1 track completely gone. So let these people build a track that they want to build, as it was stated they only have room to put in a 1/4 mile track. So if you want a 3/8 mile track build your own or just be happy there will possibly be 2 running asphalt tracks in the state of Texas.
  3. Is this the one that Alvin Powell had?
  4. I hate to say it but you cant really judge how someone races at just Daytona. Yes the track is big and fast and you race in big packs but as we saw with the 500 it can take mediocre teams and make them look fast. Like I heard a top tier cup driver say one time after being involved in the big one at Daytona, "we go to Atlanta next week that's when the real season starts". So lets watch what these ladies do all throughtout the year and then see where they are at. I think the one who has the better shot is Deegan, she is racing for Bill MCAnally Racing in the K&N Series West full time and part time in the East. Decker is only racing ARCA and I feel like a driver is more likely to be plucked the K&N series than ARCA.
  5. I'm with Kruger, Hailie will be the next. She has some major sponsors that are already with her and she has proven she can drive.
  6. Raymond I know you travel, I've seen your cars at all the tracks. I wasnt saying that all the houston guys dont travel there is a couple of yall that do travel its the rest of the guys that dont travel thats why I stated "some of these houston racers dont travel anywhere else." No I wasnt at CC on Saturday but if I still had a truck I would have been there, I always liked running CC Speedway. We run a sprint car and travel all over the state racing it and we have to travel a minimum of 3 hours to go to any racetrack we want to run at.
  7. Just a question would having rules that are matching really make everyone travel to the other tracks? Case in point The truck series and the pro mods have the same rules for all four tracks (minus the standard trans rule) but you get 20 plus trucks in houston and 20 plus pro mods in houston and then when CTS and SAS have a race only 8 to 12 show up. I think a lot of it is that racers will travel to houston to race but when a race is held somewhere else some of these houston racers dont travel anywhere else. Thats whats nice about our Sprint Car we can run at 6 different tracks between friday and saturday nights and the only thing we have to change is gear and setup. Saturday night we were on our way to race in Willis and there was rain everywhere around us and looking as if we were going to get rained out and we were already making plans that if we did rain out to take off to Devils Bowl or Kennedale and race that same night but we ended up not getting rained out.
  8. Aaron from what I heard a few weeks ago I dont think it will matter if they contact QMA as I heard they dropped their QMA sanction to go USAC Sanctioned. Which leaves two tracks in Region 6 now Tulsa and Austin.
  9. I remember racing my quarter midget on the front stretch of SAS or Highway 16 know at that time. The racing my truck there was a blast I always liked the dipon the backstretch. The best part as working on a crew would have to be a tie between the time when I crewed for Bradley and his car blew the motor on Friday and he got in Roberts car and won the championship and the other one was when I crewed for Casey and we made our pit stop and was half a track behind Brandon and caught him on the last lap and finished second by a fender.
  10. Midget I found some more pics the other day of my first car when my parents bought it. I'll get them scanned and posted. It was a 1978 Curtis Craft. that we ran all the way up to 1992 and won 4 track championships with against people who had brand new factory cars.
  11. There are some pics somewhere that have me leaning out so far that my shoulder was touching the nerfbar. All I know is that I was told on multiple occasions that people could read my whole name that was on the back of my driving suit I leaned out so far. An I liked having the front tire off the ground that means that bad boy was hooked up. Yes at times this car was a handful to drive. Thats one thing I really liked about running this class because not only was it about setup it was also a driver's class. During a race if the handling changed you could just breath it in a different spot and change how the car entered and exited the corner or throw it into the corner a different way and get it to do some different things. The one thing I remember is when me and my father experimented by putting Model Airplane fuel in the tank since it was a mix of alky and 35% of nitromethane and boy let me tell about some flames out the pipes it was awesome.
  12. Midget85 here is a pic of me running my Hvy. AA in Austin in 1994
  13. This is really neat stuff to see I race quarters from the late 80's to mid 90's running every class from jr. novice, sr. stock, lt mod, hvy B, light AA, heavy AA. Of course the AA class was my favorite class to run. Question for you on the first page the car that is being tipped on its side to check the oil drainage was that a AA car looky at it the way it is there and remembering how my motor was they look the same.
  14. Which carts were they running? the shifter karts or the roc carts. I have a friend of mine who i used to race with, he's the general manager out there real smart with those carts.
