  1. Again, not racing related, but kinda fun to watch.
  2. Nick, On the subject of money and racing I'm always reminded of the late race driver Larry Rice who was a commentator on the THUNDER series of USAC sprint and midget racing back in the 80's I think on ESPN and later CMT. He once said, "Speed costs money. How fast do you wanna go?" I thought that pretty well covered the subject in two short sentences.
  3. Well H/T you are not going to like this, but so be it. Cute? Sure. But cute does not a driver make. With me it's a little more personal than that. Yet again you have missed the point. Perhaps I can elaborate. I was a fan of her's years before she moved to nascar. Ten years ago i'd gone up to TMS to the IndyCar race. As I customarily do, I purchased a pit pass along with my grandstand ticket. I was there all day Friday, practice day. I've never been in to seeking driver autographs, but as I stood along the pit wall after the day's practice, seemingly out of nowhere she appeared, walking down pit lane. I still haven't the foggiest notion why she approached me. Just in the right place in the right point in time I suppose, or maybe she perceived me as just another one of her thousands of fans. At any rate, she offered her autograph. Having nothing for her to write on, I said "How about my shirt?". She cheerfully replied "SURE!." So that's what I got. Our encounter was brief, but it was just us, one on one, no team, owners, sponsors, media or crowd. She is almost the same age as my two kids. All racing bull s#*t aside, I came away with the impression of WHAT A DELIGHTFUL YOUNG LADY she truly is. The next day she put on the show of her life and I'm glad I was there to see it live and in person. Twice she put eighty thousand fans on there feet as she took the lead. The duel you see at the end of the following vid was for the lead. Brisco ended up with two more of those "PUSH TO PASS" gizmos than she had. Otherwise it may have been a dead heat at 200+. No talent? Really? ………….. So now you know.
  4. From DirtyMo Media -----> From DirtyMo Media
  5. Now Nick, you know the CRABRIGHTS and TURTLECUDDLERPEOPLE would never allow that.
  6. BLOCKING???? IN NASCAR? No way BB! There is no blocking in Nascar. They are simply PROTECTING THEIR POSITION.
  7. Nah, will never work Nick. There is NOTHING and I genuinely mean that NOTHING is going to get these so called millennials and post-millennials up off their collective fat asses and out from behind their little ipad screens. It's ridiculous to go somewhere and see all these people living their lives entirely fixated on those little screens. What a sad state of affairs it truly is.
  8. I actually hope Hailey truly IS FOR REAL H/T. As for Danica? Some do indeed regard her as a dismal failure. Me? Don't think so. Remember, Danica came from a very much middle class family in a little southern Wisconsin town. There was no big $$$ money behind her like some people think. Her parents owned a coffee shop. Her dad bought her a go-cart when she was 10. The rest as they say is history. I guess there are more ways than one to measure success or failure. Tell you what, dare you to google …….. "Danica Patrick's Net Worth" to find out how much of a failure she has become.
  9. EXACTLY what I said on here 10 years ago. Danica finished 6th in the ARCA Daytona race, after being punted into the infield grass, saved it, pitted and returned in 24th place and still brought it home 6th in her very first ever stock car race. Her team was impressed enough with her performance to enter her in the nascar xfinity Daytona race the following week The president of Daytona later stated there was an immediate 15% increase in ticket sales for that race when the announcement was made.
  10. Yes BB. Was just pullin' ur leg a little.
  11. Yep BB, great run for her today, finishing 2nd in her first Daytona race. Watched the whole thing, which is more than I can say for ANY recent N-car race. Obviously you and some others are not familiar with my history on here. Yes, I knew who she was all along. Just trying to draw a little attention to her on this board and liven it up a little. AND, there is no need to congratulate yourself on here.
  12. OK, here ya go ………… You can catch Hailie, Natalie, Dominique and a bunch of other guys in the ARCA at Daytona race today, Sat. Feb 8th at 3:30 pm on FoxSports-1.
  13. I (ordinarily) respect other peoples' opinions on here. I hope others will respect ours NICK and JAY. Funny thing happened at my house out here a couple of years ago. My son and a friend he works with flew down here from Seattle to attend the USF1GP at cota. I picked them up at the Austin airport, brought them out here and they stayed overnight. The next morning as they were preparing to leave to go to Cota, my son asked me "Aren't you coming?". I smiled back at him and told him " NO, You two go on, take my truck, enjoy the race and have a good time. I don't go to cota events."

Nah, no pie fight here either H/T. Actually didn't even have any C-pie at Christmas. Lots and lots of other good stuff though. Had some really good punkin pie. If I'm a good boy, might get a couple of C-pies for my B-Day next month.
  15. COTA is less than 100 miles from me. Yet, have never attended an event there, nor shall I ever. Reminds me of that old saying ……….. the four saddest words ---> "WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN."

H/T I'm sure your wife's chocolate pie is really, really good, but NAH, my wife's chocolate pie is the very best there is. But hey, on another note, maybe I'll go to that "NOT RACING RELATED" thread, since it is the off-season now. We've got a couple of new dogs since last year. Maybe I'll post a couple of pics. You good?
  17. OK guys. You've turned the knob. Now, open the door for us on this site. Just who the 773H IS this Haly Degon or whatever her name is. Let's see some pics. What is her racing background. Is she really any good or is this just all promotional B/S. Come on. Start a HD thread. Let's get started. Half the people on here know no female is capable of competitively driving a race car. Convince us we are all wrong !!!
  18. Yes Bobby. That is Gary Banks escaping uninjured and unburned fortunately from the right side window.
  19. OK. Here it is. Taken 1975 at Pan Am. I've always thought this amazing pic to be in the top four or five ever posted on this site. We've all seen many, many pics of race cars, drivers, wrecked race cars, upside down race cars, burning race cars, etc. etc. ………… But have you ever actually SEEN THE FIRE DEMON? Here it is …….
  20. Since this topic came up on here, it got me to thinking. I remember somewhere on this site, probably in the History Section, there is an incredible FIRE pic taken at Pam Am in SA in the late 60's I think. If I can find it I'll repost it here.
  21. Should be a really good show Josh. I used to love sprint car racing until they put those confounded big a$$ed wings on um. Looking forward to this one already. Here's a little 4 minute sample from last spring at H.O.T. in Waco.
  22. Looks to be 4 weber carbs on that beast, correct SJ?
  23. I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT SLIDEJOB. THERE IS A PIC IN THAT ARTICLE OF ONE OF THOSE MOTORS AND THAT SURE LOOKS LIKE A SET OF ALUMINUM HEADS ON IT. AGAIN, AS I SAID I TOOK ANOTHER LOOK AT THAT ARTICLE AND NOTICED THAT IT WAS INDEED PRODUCED FOR/BY "FORD PERFORMANCE". THINK ABOUT IT, WHY WOULD THEY MENTION A COMPONENT SUPPLIED BY A SUB-CONTRACTOR. SO, UPON FURTHER REVIEW, MY STATEMENT OF "DEBUNKING THE HOLMAN-MOODY RUMOR" IS HEREBY RETRACTED (THE CALL ON THE FIELD IS REVERSED.) AS THEY SAY. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU'VE GOT SOMETHINE VERY PRECIOUS THERE. TAKE GOOD CARE OF THAT BABY !!!
