Tony Stewart hits, kills driver in sprint car race

And I'm one that likes to see the occasional disagreement but when a driver is not being escorted or gets in the groove it bothers me and to see it every week gets old too, makes it looked staged and overshadows what we really go to race tracks for. Of course, it's easy to say I'd rather see guys stay in their car now and yes my view changed since I've been in a car myself now. I've always had the view of good racing > good confrontation though.

HiTech you brought up a good point of being distracted during a yellow so i went back and looked at our in car videos of our sprint car and watched our driver during caution laps whether it be before, during and after the race. I noticed our driver pulling tear offs, lifting his shield and wiping sweat from around his eyes, making sure his belts are still adjusted to where he wants, looking at the scoreboard as well as watching the car behind him. I thought most tracks require raceivers, if they were using them how come someone wasnt on the radio telling the drivers beware he is out of his car and in the middle of the track?

Because they were more than[ LIKELY ] enjoying the fact the kid was going to tell a nascar driver the what nots about raceing and are just as [GUILTY] as anyone in killing this kid ..or they were sipping a dr pepper at the time and did not see the kid get out of his car ..you know distracted THAT could not be right . .....just like a driver could NOT possibly be at that moment ..,,or maybe they could not see him either .MORE THAN LIKELY ONE OR MORE OF THOSE ARE FACTS THAT NONE WILL EVER ADMIT TOO ...THE ONLY GUILTY ONE IS TONY .

Something I've always tried to teach Eric and I know he understands it is, when some bad happens, wreck, argument, accident, tragic incident like this one, go back and look at what 1 single thing set the sequence of events off leading up to the outcome on both sides. That's where Mr. Ward should not have gone down on the track after Tony.... If that one thing was different, if he had stayed up by the car even, we would not be having any of these conversations.. But it's too late now, finger pointing, blaming and all the things that have been said about this doesn't help one bit. Let the officials do their job. Support the Ward family in their grief and Tony in his grief, that's what we should all be concentrating on, not blaming anyone or making excuses. Racing is dangerous, my first hero died in a fire at charlotte motor speedway in 1964 and there have been many more since then.. Guys and girls, there isn't a driver out there that at some point we don't get mad at or next race love'm, it's racing and will always be a highly emotional sport so lets keep the sport alive and support each other..

I think it's total BS that the headlines keep saying "Tony Stewart Killed" and then show a picture of Tony smiling.

you noticed that to..the media will never point out the kid got out of his car walked in front of two cars and gets killed by one of those two cars ..that would not be a very good story for them to cover .just be one time mentioned and its over ..just like the brown case going on .the kid robbed a store strong arm at that .got into a fight with a cop who did not know about the kid and its all the cops fault.. i am sure the kid did not know the cop did not know anything about the robbery .would the media mention that part //not on your life ..that would ruin the kids reputation ..and we cant have that right .....you jump in front of a moving car you can get killed ..you attack a cop .you can get killed ..teach your children that ..
