rails
I’m not so sure that Joe Gibbs may be laughing all the way to the bank on this deal. I suspect that his race team may supplying everything to 2311. All the way down to the pit crews. And I would also bet that Toyota is funding a large portion of it as well. I wonder if this could be the reason for some of his lackluster performances this year, yes he has had car issues but how many of those could have been prevented. Also anyone find it interesting that ever since Tony Stewart starting in with Leah that his NASCAR teams have been virtually non existent. Could the NHRA deal be distracting or could the rumor of Dodge coming back be tied in with Tony and Ford is not wanting to help as much? Tony Stewart has said multiple times that the smart people are already at the shop. there is nothing he can do to help the situation. in 2020 nascar found something that SHR was doing in the wheel wells that created a lot of downforce. when they found that and told them to stop that's when the issues started. this was before Leah. I agree, and this is not the first time - think about Earnhardt Sr starting his own team with his son and Michael Waltrip while Sr was driving for Childress. NASCAR has a rule forbidding (paraphrasing here) "manipulating the outcome of a race". That would seem to be a distinct possibility when a driver has an ownership interest in one or more other cars. As an additional example, think of Jeff Gordon's partial ownership of the 48 car when both he and Jimmy Johnson were driving.
