  1. Did the Razzi's come with a Continental engine? Or did you buy the car less engine and use whatever.
  2. The RaceCraft looks like a real midget of the day. the grand Prix looks just like the GP cars. Your 85 car looked like a big brother Midget. What brand was it, engine etc? The one on Ebay recently,I felt, was to much money for the condition of the car. Jim I want the $3.00 per week deal................................
  3. I talked to Red over the week end. He said he didn't remember the 11 car as it looked in the pic. He said he would call Fred this week and see if he remembered the story on that car. I'll post on here soon as I hear from Red. Hope Fred knows a little history on it.
  4. Great story Randy. I totally concur with the driving habits. I never thought much talent was involved if you had to wreck or hit a man to gain position. If that's the only way you can make a pass, then you don't have a lot going for you. And yes, you made the right choice that day.
  5. Remember Larry, that Fred bought a lot of race cars. I don't know that the car ever raced with the black "11" on it. I do believe the car was local and in all likelyhood, that pic was made right right after Fred acquired the car. He could have had it painted the next day. The white could stay on as primary color and the red added. I don't know any of this to be fact, but possibilities. I'm tryin' hard as I can.............................
  6. I always thought the 9 and 11 were the same car. Remember, any of us could change the paint scheme on a car during the week..............................
  7. I think the primary color on Charlie's car was red trimmed in white. The 11 car was just the opposite.
  8. I think that's the one that eventually was painted white with red. Don't recall the sponsor on it.
  9. Post 87 in "more meyer spdwy super mod photos" has pics of the 11 car. Fred owned it at that time. I read in here somewhere that it was the sister car to Charles Ray's 1 car and they were built by the same person. I don't recall drivers in the 11 but I think there were several. It was eventually painted in a reverse image of Charlie's car.
  10. The repopos were actually made for the 03 and 04 marauders. The original 64 badges had the name and flag separated just like on the midget. I never put the repops on our Marauder for that reason. I see your point there Jim. The midget above does bring some questions and I do believe the fender badges were added to the midget later in it's life from the Mercury.. -Randy
  11. We also are Blessed and did not suffer any damage from IKE. Comcast came back on line today in our area. Hope everyone is OK. Our prayers go out to the folks on the coast...............
  12. Randy, you're probably right. More work than I want right now. Hey, it does have Marauder fender badges!!!
  13. The body looks to have a lot of Bondo on it. Makes me wonder if it could be saved.
  14. All right!!! What did you do? Doc looks angry.................. Are you sure that was 1958? Maybe 57? PM sent........................Just send me an email reply.................
  15. After further review, I believe that is my old car that he is standing by. I sold it to Sid and his partner when we got our new car built. Looks like they did all the body work to get ready for a new season.
  16. Yes, things like that have a way of sticking with you..............................Great story.
  17. Boy, You guys were really moving in those cars! Those looked like some well maintained tracks. Were they local tracks? Wish I had been involved in it. ANSWER TO QUESTION: Jim, The 1/10th mile track was located in New York. Not sure where the 1/20th mile track was in the video's above.. -Randy
  18. I joined the web site and sent him a note to see if any cars were available. I doubt the 26 is for sale as it was his dad's car. And those pics may be more recent than I initially thought. I'll wait to see if he replies.
  19. I don't believe this is a recent photo. It was taken somewhere in the mid West. Most likely behind someones shop. I found it in here: http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum~ThreadID~8274.htm
  20. Shame we don't have a salvage yard like this in the Houston area..................Looks like an old CAE car behind the 26......................
  21. And Billy Griswold even ran an Olds powered Sprintcar in the USAC race. Johnny Reiff told me during the race "That Olds could be made to run". I think the idea was to let Johnny have it for awhile...............That was a Houston based sprinter but I never knew who owned it. I think it was somewhere around North Shepherd.
  22. That being said, I probably knew your dad, maybe you too. How old were you during the sixties?
  23. Don, are you related to the Myers family with the car dealership?
  24. The reason that Stars and Stripes is so vivid to me is that either Ed or Tater put it on the turn table everytime their were no announcements or a break in the action. Same thing at Playland. RIP to both................................
