Welcome Doug,
Pics and stories are always appreciated. I don't care if it's 1/4 midgets or Indy cars, anytime you are running wheel to wheel with the other fellow, that's racing!!!!
Map the corner of Greens Rd. And Lee Rd. The track, barely visible is Northwest of that corner. I raced there about 1957 or 1958. Fun asphalt track. Pretty much overgrown now.
The story goes that Charlie couldn't fit the long V-12 in the coupe so he set the coupe down on the modified Lincoln frame. Charlie was a gearhead of the highest order.
Hi mr427, Somewhere in all these posts, I put up some information that I had asked Red about. The frame, rear end and some suspension info. If you do a replica, might be helpful to have. Good luck.
Anymore videos around for Meyer races in the 60s. Broncos, Modifieds, Midgets or Sprints. I can't get enough! Really enjoyed the last one that Randy Posted. Others said they had photos they were going to post. Many thanks to Mark for all he posted. Thanks to all..................................
Anybody talked to Roy Tuley recently? Haven't seen or talked to him in years . He may have knowledge of the whereabouts of a couple of these old cars. Meyer and Playland both. Maybe he can post in this forum. Like I said, its been many years and a lot of things could have happened.............................
Billy Griswold drove an Olds powered sprint at Meyer Speedway in the early 60s, give or take, but I don't think it was this one. Might ask him when you see him.
