rebelracewriter
So.....still don't believe this is being used as a "marketing" tool? Seen the new commercial pitting the truck drivers from both teams yet?.... Might as well make it pay-per-view.....(which probably isn't far from reality)

NickHolt
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 21, 2010) – NASCAR has penalized the No. 60 team and the No. 22 driver for rule violations committed during last Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Gateway International Raceway. He's a quote from a NASCAR new release: "NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton says 'have at it, boys' has worked, but the incident at Gateway went too far." jwmbishop
So we are basically back to having a nice well defined "thou shall not cross" line that everyone can see equally? *snicker*
JamesHigdon
I guess I'm missing the issue here...I really think at this point NASCAR has it right. Let the guys race, let the guys race hard, let the guys bump into each other and get a little squirrelly, when the guys intentionally take each other out in front of the pack push them back into line and go. I know it’s popular to be cynical but what has NASCAR done wrong that they wouldn’t have done any time in their history? Yes, it stinks that a bunch of driver got their cars torn up because of this, if their unhappy about it put Carl in the wall next race and move on. This is not socialism at speed; the best drivers that try the hardest win and if you do something that makes someone unhappy they put you in the wall and everyone moves on. Let’s not encourage NASCAR to become any more involved in the one track action then they already are, we have enough of big brother looking over our backs 6 days a week.
