Anyone know what fast qualifying time was in super street?

 All time & results are posted on My Laps at http://ccspeedway.mylaps.com

The results and time are uploaded each night immediately following the races. Everyone can see the over-all results and each driver can register their info to view their own data on each race such as times on each lap - position - etc. If a driver is not sure how to retrieve their individual info let us know and we will help.

 BTW - 27 - John Henry Witzche - broke the track record for Super Street with a fast time of 14.75

Thanks

Actually OT the slicks were slower. They are 5 years old where my street tires are from last year.Plus I have so much reverse cross weight to pin the street tires like we did for the G60 IMCA tires on dry slick. The slicks like a more even loading.I did not change anything else and I believe the open diff hurt the TPS race the most.Carrying the LR allowed the LF to spin on exit.CC loves fresh rubber no matter what brand.Fresh street tires are faster than old slicks with everything else being the same.

How bout that rookie Thunder driver Greg Sr? Its exciting to me to finally have a bonified V8 driver actually race one of our cars and he did rather well.I hope this opens the door for other V8 drivers to join in too.I believe Greg can attest to the raceability of these cars. With more experience and some tuning to his style he will be a regular winner for sure. The sad part is Nellie having to give up her ride because of health problems,I know she really loves racing too but at least her car is in good hands.

What kind of rocket did you guys put in Jrs car?Sounded like Jessey Sr"s pro sedan engine. All he needs now is some chassis tuning to hook all that power up and look out, another killer fast Thunder. All he needed after that practice was a roll of charman. What a save.

We also had another V8 driver,Justin Skinner. He drove the Neon and had a great run also.He said his arms were tired after the race and that shows how physical these cars really are. Also Matt K drove the 68 in a practice and also commented on the drivability of a fast Thunder.

The Thunder class is the car of the future weather we like it or not.We just need to define how we want to see them. The potential is unlimited. The V8 drivers are a great place to draw from. When they find how exciting Thunders are to race and how much cheaper they are I expect we will see more. And their experience is greatly needed and appreciated.

i have to disagree with the cheaper part gb my bomber is alot cheaper than my old toyota. i do miss that old car but i am having alot of fun in the bomber class. we started 21 cars the last race. i hope this track could see this many cars again in one class because it gets very interesting on that small track.

yep gb .he had the better motor ..he decided on the gear ratio he wanted .that most probably will change ...he needs some better tires . you know how that works ..to much motor for the ones he had ...i and sr told him what to exspect .i think he got humbled .lol i know i will get in trouble for telling you this with him .but hey what the heck ...... if he decides to keep running this motor .he will have to makes some major adustments ...not so much with the car but mainly the driver it will take alittle time to figure what he can and cant do with those ponies.... .. ..... time will tell ...and im sure he will do it .

The thunder class is the car of the future?! I don't see many tracks making a huge effort to push them. Now I saw the class in Killeen and it was good there. Edna uses the class as a beginner class where there is, I think ,a 15 year age limit and it is a fun class to watch. At STS they were the cure for insomnia. CC was ok other than the speed differental between the cars was too great for my liking.I am speaking as a fan only as I'M sure they are fun to race and all that.I respect all race drivers and crews no matter what the class. But if I was faced with choice of watching 20 Texas Thunders or 20 Outlaw modifieds for me it is the sound and fury of the modifieds.

You are correct arob that the problem with Thunders is the way they are promoted. The Pro Sedans are promoted correctly and there were 21 cars at CC last week, the largest field in years except for the dwarfs one nite.Im not sure where you see 20 modifieds, there almost extinct.Why?Cost.If racing is to be only for the well off then it has all it is going to have right now.

Racing needs an affordable car that is simple to aquire easy to work on,easy to transport, easy to find parts for,and something the average person can identify with. This is the defination of a 4 cyl stock car.If promoters dont see the potential then they are the loosers. There are already many, prehaps too many venues for V8 cars right now.The question is do all the tracks have all the cars and fans they need right now?If the 4 cyl show is not good its because its not handled right.A kid class, junk class or amature only class is not exciting.I dont see any alternatives for the V8 guy that was priced out of the sport he loves.A field of experienced drivers in well tuned cars can be.Why have to choose between 4s and 8s when you could have both?I bet Vence McMahan could fill the grandstands with a Thunder car race if he wanted to.Its not about the car,its about the show they put on.Everything else has already been tried. But old ideas die hard, new ideas are hard to get started.I guess it will always be that way

I can still be hopeful,so I look for the positive.

if you like racen a go cart .you will like raceing a thunder ....thunders have been around long time ...tps is 34 years old . why . the only searies that has lasted that long ..name another if you can .........cc thunders have been around every year sense the 70.s i remember jim melhart raceing back then ..i started in thunders full time in 85 ..i had a v8 .at the time cost to much .... over the years thunders got alittle too costly depending on where you race ....but right aboult where some v8 classes cost ..but i look at edna ..sts at one time ..thunder hill .red river ..and tons of racetracks all over the usa ..running thunders .. mostly stock . thats good ..and if it is considered a starter class by others .then thats great .. i dont consider it a starters class race one and you will see ... ... tps isnt a starter class persay .but some rookies get started there ..as for thunders beeing the future .only the future will tell .i know the past they have been a really good class to race in ...even with the different brands racen ..btw .i hate the thunder name anyway .

I bet Vince McMahon could fill the grandstands with a Thunder car race if he wanted to.Its not about the car,its about the show they put on.

No doubt about it. Vinnie Mac is a great promoter, with a great mind. The Thunders could promote themselves though IMHO. They don't need as great of a promoter as that.

You are right about 20 Outlaw mods I think the last race there were 16. And it is the most expensive to run no doubt. But they sure sound good! I know it is tough to build a 4cyl class here in Corpus because getting guys to build new cars for a track that seems in doubt each year doesn't make it easy. I applaud the efforts of all past and present to get the old C.C. Speedway magic back.If Mr. Monroe can make it through two or three years in a row CC may be back.

The hard thing is to get all the thunders to show up and race .I know of 2 that are parked because they do not have the money to race another 1 cant race at cc for one reson or another and couple more that are parked for one reson or another

I for one have no doubt Mr. Monroe will make it longer than two or three years with C C Speedway. The track is doing great and I see no problem with the track getting back to the way it once was. Keep up the good work Dan the track has come along way so far this year. The car count is comin up and there is great racing at C C Speedway.

I personally think the car count is pretty decent if you can get the same cars to come out each week! Look at the points and you will see that many have entered and raced and have failed to return on a regular basis. Theres no glory when theres no fans, and believe it or not , alot of drivers race for the glory over the fun and excitement! I personally think this is wrong , but some will differ! And also people love giveaways, free entries, cheap beer, novelty prizes and anything else you can think of giving away. And you may get a few if not several spectators in return. Fans turn into drivers=more drivers turn into entertainment=more entertainment=more fans ....well you get the idea!
