Well known around Pan American and Austin in both the open wheel, and later Late Models with a #3 on the side. In fact, the pic posted is taken at Longhorn when it was known as Austin Speedorama. It was built on a '55 Chevy frame with independent front suspension. If I remember correctly it led the Liberty Bell race at Myers one year, running away until a late pit stop where the driver actually got out of the car for a drink or something, and lost the lead. Occasionally, somebody would show up at a pavement track with one. Here is a link to those cars. Note also that Nance built sprints. He was based out of Kansas it think.
