Yeah, I will add that street race to my list of NASCAR races I won't watch. I can still remember bits of the Budweiser 200 race from WA state. I can't remember if it was on ESPN or TNN, but it sure was hard to watch. I'd be willing to bet that over half of the laps were under yellow. Reminds me of the Clash. I half heartedly asked my brother if he wanted to fly in for the COTA weekend in 2022. He said "I don't think so". Said that doing another road course wasn't something he wanted to do again. He was pretty happy when I said the same thing. We both agreed that the Lamborghini race was the best of the weekend at COTA in 2021. The truck and Xfinity races were decent, as was the weather for them. There was a little rain for the trucks, with none for the Xfinity race. Now we're looking at putting something together to do a weekend at Phoenix.

ok . u race to the checker and this is the way it should be .... just think one more restart would have had a different winner .. if it goes down to the last car running the farthest then so be it makes it fun ...last man standing ..

COOL made me think back to 1985when i helped a driver get his first win after five years .. . only racers can know what that feeling is . even tears sneak up on u .. .T hen winning my first feature I COULD not believe it running hand me downs and in some cases junk parts i made work in subpar cars .. .. I got excited seeing THIS DRIVER excited and i have never seen or heard of him WINNING ON DATONA .. .. as racers we all have had that moment . and it can mean little to others outside of your team ... when our team won a prosedan race at sa in 2006 .it was like daytona for us .. spent 7 years trying to pull one off .. . then watching my son win his first race at cc and his first race on his first time racing at sas . then winning a bunch of racaces at kyle ... moments that are few but will live with u for ever ... ..

NEVER cared for him .. but better over 22 and 8

Kyle Busch busted in Mexico for "carrying a firearm w/o a license"
from theblaze.com
One of the most recognizable names in NASCAR today was just handed a hefty prison sentence by a court in Mexico.
On Friday, the attorney general of Quintana Roo, the Mexican state where popular tourist destinations like Cancún and Playa del Carmen are located, announced that 37-year-old NASCAR star Kyle Busch had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison after he was found to be "carrying a firearm without a license."
Busch, identified in the press release only as "Kyle 'N'" or "Kyle Thomas B," had accidentally run afoul of the Mexican law last month when he and his wife, Samantha, were on vacation, and Busch claimed he forgot that he had left a gun in his handbag. When the Busches arrived at Cancún International Airport on January 27 to hop on a private plane back to the States, authorities discovered in his belongings a .380 caliber "pistol-type firearm" with a stocked magazine containing "six useful hollow point cartridges," the press release stated.

Because of an "expedited procedure," Busch's case was soon afterward placed before a "Control judge," and that judge issued Busch the prison sentence and a fine of just over $1,000. The press release claimed that Busch "was credited with his full responsibility in the commission of the crime," and a statement released on Busch's Twitter account seems to confirm his admitted guilt.
"Discovery of the handgun led to my detainment while the issue was resolved," Busch said in a statement issued on Monday. "I was not aware of Mexican law and had no intention of bringing a handgun into Mexico."
Busch elsewhere stated that he has "a valid concealed carry permit" and that he adheres "to all handgun laws" in general.
"I apologize for my mistake and appreciate the respect shown by all parties as we resolved the matter," Busch's statement said.
By all accounts, the matter does appear to be resolved, though it is unclear whether Busch will ever have to serve the considerable prison sentence he was given.
"My family and I consider this issue closed," Busch's statement concluded.
HE WONT BE GOING BACK TO MEXICO ANYTIME SOON .. looks like bush got some very serious help getting out of that country before his trial ..and such a low fine .. heck i would still be there and $15000 to get out ..

Some of you may have seen or heard of the flip that had a driver thrown completely out of his Midget....After everyone's speculation this is their finding.....Thankfully he's doing well and will be back in a car later this year....Don't EVER think it can't happen....Just sayin'

After a lengthy discussion with several different knowledgeable people the only plausible conclusion we all agreed on, was the belts velcro cover wasn’t velcroed exposing the latch. Once the car began flipping, it is believed the impact from the first rotation caused Ashton’s arm restraint loop on his race suit to catch and released the latch. He was not wearing arm restraints. Seems to be the result of a freak accident scenario where unfortunately all the “stars aligned.” If you’re not running with arm restraints we suggest taping the loops down to prevent them from catching on anything. We know there was no belt failure, belts are valid until December 31st 2024 and we know he was properly latched in at the beginning of the incident. Thankfully Ashton is recovering very well. He has another follow appointment next week, and we are hopeful that he will be back on the track in mid February or early March. While we can’t say thank you enough for the unimaginable amount of support and prayers we are ready to close this chapter and move on looking forward to a successful 2023 schedule where we will look to compete weekly in multiple states in either the 360 sprint cars or the micros. Hope to see ya at a dirt track near you!

Reason I say go to dirt is because cars are there, they are readily available. Yes there is asphalt cars some left but not a whole lot. Most that had them converted them to dirt or they have been sitting in the weeds for so long.
Next your only gonna really pull racers from Austin and San Antonio. You will get a couple from Corpus but Houston none of them will come to SA to race. That was evident during the hay days of asphalt racing in Central Texas.
Next thing asphalt racers bitch non-stop about rules and their classes. Dirt cars throw an IMCA or USRA sanction on them and bam you can go run where you want. Plus dirt racers will travel to race multiple nights because they don't have to be at a track all day long.
make it dirt and u will have poeple from all over ..

All the crying for years to have SAS reopen.....Someone comes up with an idea/plan and all you hear from circle trackers is negative bullshit....Y'all crack me up....No actually I'm TRULY disappointed in several people on here and fakebook.
Yes I know of all the hurdles and loop holes they'll need to jump through and I know a lot more about the whole ACM situation than most people or that I've publically shared during litigation(good and bad).....I also know between dome dirt and soil contamination that area would need a shit ton of remediation to become anything like a housing area.
Right now all they're asking for is some volunteer help....Funny thing, when Chris and Brian asked for help people showed up with weedeaters, chain saws and a freaking bulldozer....Then only a percentage of people crying for it to reopen even showed up....When you don't have it, you want it....When you have it, you don't support it....SMGDH....Seems the only ones excited are the drag racing people....If I was the group of people involved in this I'd say screw the circle track, lets just build the drag strip....FYI, Little River, Edinburg, Big Country, HMP are only 1/8 mile tracks, probably others I've not been to also.
In one their latest posts they've stated they have the funding in place, whether true or not I don't know, but they're NOT asking for money so this shouldn't turn into another James and Shelma deal.(Not you Higdon)
All that being said I'm skeptically optimistic, but give them the benefit of the doubt until I see otheidont care what it wise.
WELL I am SEEING u are starting the year out right ....i dont care what it cost someone to rebuild that track . they know the issues in rebuilding it ... if they are willing why cry about it ..i got to race one race on that track in pro sedan had less than two handfulls of pratice laps the very last weekend the track ran .. i started 4th surprised i ran and finished 3rd surprised again might have had a chance at winning but leaning out carb caused me to run just above half throttle most of the race i could have followed right on the leaders tails till i learned more about that track but chance of burning a piston i was not in favor of .. ......be something to see it running again always excited to go ..

HAPPY NEW YEAR ..hope the new one is better than the last one ..i slept right through it , i must have been tired i never heard the war zone we get every year . i must be getting old ,, the neighbors across the street always put on a massive hours long fireworks display carlelessly each year ...not to mention every street around does the same .. WE HAVE LAWS just like other major cities have . but u wont find the police anywhere near by . call them u wont get an answer ...... it is so dangerous for officers to do that sorta work ..never know who will fire a weapon off .and that happens way to often now ..

if u are winning races all the time .u are a cheater either way ..i was called a cheater when i won more races or up front finishes than some thought i should . always fun once they saw i was not cheating ..but if u were found cheating once that stuck with u from then on ..nick has told me somethings he has found some very innovative designs and many on the edge ... u dont know how many teams each week nascar finds something in question and that is just that in question and not penalize the team but least warns them not to do it again...
