Sorry, phone died as I was trying to post Cody Smith's Victory Lane photo,  but he will take home a well earned $5000 victory at the 2022 South Texas Shootout.

In the Factory Stock Feature, it was a 3 car race for most of it between Cameron Starry, Memphis Villareal and Dalton Faulkner. Jared Maupin would join the fray with Jason Tiner for awhile and Cody Leonard started picking off positions one by one. Around the halfway mark, Villareal and Starry started making contact down the front stretch and both went spinning in 1. Villareal was sent to the rear and Starry was sent to the pits for getting out of his car on the track to discuss Christmas plans with Villareal. With those two out of the way, Faulkner cruised the rest of the way to victory and a cool $2000 payout. Leonard took second from Maupin on the last lap, Brian Rye and Tiner wrapped up the top 5.

As we close out another great race season, I want to thank the South Texas Race Ranch crew for a great weekend of racing, the drivers that were here and everyone involved at the other tracks across Texas that let us fans enjoy the sport and watching the great talent we have across the state in all the classes. Hope you all have a Happy Holiday Season and New Year as we look forward to the 2023 Race Season at whatever track you can make it to, support your local tracks and drivers. Stay safe and healthy until next year folks...

Yes it was Rodney. I agree Nick, lucky to have Owen running things and you know he doesn't like running late. Glad we had a large group of Pure Stocks, Late Models were good to see again, wish it would have ended better, very scary wreck and hope Kody and GW are feeling ok after a few days.
