These are the type of races everyone always wants and ask for. Well here it is remember its the response and turnout that determines if these races continue coming to South Texas. We have to pull together do our part no matter how big or small to get South Texas on the map and to keep it on the map. Opportunity is knocking.

Absolutely right STP. Shady Oaks quickly becoming the gem of short track racing in South Texas and STP/STSSS great promotions in their own right. Keep the hype going and let's show them South Texas IS a racing destination and Thank God SOS was ready to go and put this show on.

STP is right on.SOS and USMTS has taken the risk that the fans will be there for them on such short notice.I know Thursday is a tough night with kids being in school etc.But Friday and especially Saturday the place should be busting at the seams.I know of a few people who have worked hard in different ways on this and I trust their work and risk will pay off.

Its usually different night for everyone usmts limited etc.. Usmts runs the entire weekend they bring officials etc they do line UPS everything they also run transformers that's my question does sos have the line if not they going to have to install one this is how its been done everytime I've been to a show Baytown el Paso etc unless they've changed there ways on another note SOS may be doing that so they can bring them that way they don't have to pay out every night weird to change the way things are done also not every gf/wife wants to be at a racetrack on Valentine's night so that's one night I see that's going to be tuff plus it seems to me Goliad is more of a horse and farm kinda town but hey when Baytown has there race there's hardly anybody in the stands good luck ill be there Thurs Fri this isn't to bash just tellin it like it is

I'm asking for lim mods and street stocks

Seems it is set up like the 1000 Buck Shootouts. Top 8 from both nights automatically qualify to Saturday and final slots filled on Saturday in last chance races, at least that how I understand it.

Why is it not like regular where its separate shows each night that's the way its always been so now if u can't run sat you raced for nothing it needs to be separate shows different payouts each night should have looked at this before picking up the event jmo

The 2015 USMTS Dirt Track Modified season begins at South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi on February 12th. The 3 independent one-day shows pay a combined $9000 to the winners and the combined minimum feature start dollars is $775 if you can make all three A-mains. There will be 22 spots open for qualifying with 2 provisionals from last year's points if 40 or less cars enter. That goes up to 24 spots open to qualifying with 2 provisionals if 41 or more cars enter. Beginning with the 3rd race of the season, the provisionals will start being determined by the 2015 points. See the rules at http://www.usmts.com...usmts-rules.pdf for more details.

You can make that start money go up by $150 ($50 per event) by purchasing a USMTS Gulf Coast Border Region license for...coincidently...$150 before the first race. If you happen to finish 2nd thru 9th on any of the 3 nights, the license will pay for itself as a minimum. Anything after that and the license makes you money plus it's the only way to earn USMTS points.

This first race of the season is also the first race of the $5000-to-win Mesilla Valley Transportation Gulf Coast-Border Region points championship. The region consists of 3 races each at South Texas Speedway, Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown and El Paso Speedway Park before ending on March 7th after 3 races at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces. The 12 scheduled feature races will pay a total of $36,000 to the winners along with excellent paydowns for the entire feature field.

And it starts what could be worth as much as $150,000+ this year for a national championship to one driver & team! Read more here: http://www.usmts.com...sp?NewsID=18230

You do realize that is about $10,000 just for one class over three nights for a race that was taken about 24 hours ago with less than 10 days notice, right? I'm with Top_Shelf_12, I'm just happy there will be a race.

Its not baytown. its not any other track than Shady Oaks Speedway that is hosting the event. Maybe they can't get purse money to pay for all 3 nights but they pulled a race date out of their a@@ so you never know what this family will do...They love racing just as much as everyone who races and prob more. Im sure the owner knows and said they will be posting race procedures asap!!! Hope it works out for everyone if theres a will theres a way...
