King237
It is with sadness that I must inform the LSSZ family of Dave Cookes' passing at about 2:00 PM today. As many of you know, he was the Super Stock Track Champion at Longhorn Speedway in 1993 and went on to race IMCA Modifieds until 2006 when he was stricken by an aneurism in December of that year. He leaves behind Rosemary his wife, Natalie his daughter and August his son. Funeral Services are pending at this time but as soon as I know more, I'll post them here. I have some pictures that I have pulled from our albums that I'll forward to Nick later to post in memory of Dave. I wanted to make sure this news was shared with you. Radical
This is truly some sad news. John was sort of right. I did end up with that car in the pictures. I traded my IMCA for it. He was a darn good racer, competitor and sportsman. He will be missed by many.
