JamesHigdon
Is that the same tri-five Chevy thats been floating around and racing for years? I remember one as an SAS Charger around 15 years or so ago?
txtom
Is that the same tri-five Chevy thats been floating around and racing for years? I remember one as an SAS Charger around 15 years or so ago? No, it is a new build that Bobby has been working on this past year. "Bobby" is Bobby Caulfield, the guy who got me started on the pit side of a race track almost 40 years ago. He is a very nostalgic guy, still does stuff the old school way, and just wants to have fun and a chance to drive. Not sure when he will get it done, money is the big issue for him. As for the car you saw at SAS, that was the 1957 Chevy that a local guy named Steve Riggs built. It raced in a higher class than the Chargers, though. More like the Super Streets/Limiteds; don't remember the specific name. I have not seen that car in a bunch or years, although someone told me it was behind a business near Bracken, Texas. I don't know that to be correct.

radracr
Is that the same tri-five Chevy thats been floating around and racing for years? I remember one as an SAS Charger around 15 years or so ago? ....I wonder how those cars would to in today's racing...with a 602 crate?....I'm sure a lot would have to be done to make them lighter...the leaf sprung rear would be a +...but what about the front geometry?... txtom
That 56, while it will be fun to watch, will be at a disadvantage; Under current rules, bobby cannot run a front sway bar or a rear spoiler, among other things, because they were not stock in 1956. Crazyhorse
4412 and ford 9" weren't stock in a 79 camaro either. me and him talked about that yesterday. nice man, we have alot of the same 'point of views'. but we don't make the rules, we just try to find reasoning behind them. NO MATTER WHERE HE RUNS IN THE RACE AND FINISHES ..THAT CAR WOULD HAVE ALL EYES ON IT EVERY LAP ..WE STILL RUN PINTO.S AND FAN.S COME UP TO US NOW ..WITH MAN I USE TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE .OR MY DAD HAD ONE .SO ON AND SO ON...
