Thank you deb ..i cant help but worry about you ..in the hospital the nurses and i talked about you...........i was very lucky or am at this time ....i have to go see i cant name em .but you know cancer specialist ...just to make sure ..they didnt find anything on the c.t ......the doc was very happy to say the least ..he had to take more off than he first thought ..3 half hour operation ..instead of two ...so i am disfigured for now .....dont know what we will have to do after all swelling goes down ...but heck..i am alive and looks to be ok ..so alittle body work aint nutten ...just to give you an ideal ..i look like chucky........EATING AND DRINKING IS JUST A LITTLE TOUGH ....MY UPPER LIP LOOKS LIKE A PUCKER FISH ..LOL WANT A KISS ..LOLOLOLOLO.. I have been vaping for 6 weeks now - only smoked about 10 real cigs in that time (none in past two weeks). HiTech Posted December 9, 2011 Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 you never know how much you miss something ...just to drink or eat anything has been something that will keep you in amazement ......the things i have had to use to accomplish those feats have been well .messy and somewhat innovative /testy /and plain wont work ...but try as i did ..with the indeavors ..you find it can be funny at times .....but after three days i have finally been able to drink from my glass ...not with out some mess ..but was quite injoyable ....all the symple things in life we dont think that matters .. Had to speak to you though cause you had us worried a bit guy. Have to get you well so the sausage wrap guy can get off welfare. Bud is doing fine last time I heard. He lives up on that hill top and he is probably winterizing his hill cause I understond those mountain tops ice over in the winter. I've been over the bumpy road myself a couple times Mike and can recall days when all I had were those dumb diet drinks and I lost down to around 170. But like you, necessity creates invention and we learn how to get around these small setbacks. Yep, we both are fortunate Mike. Lots more out there far worse off than you or I and that is why I thank the BIG GUY every day for what I do have. In the meantime I take life a day at a time and never worry about anything but my friends. The boss (wife) is doing fine and the great grandkids are keeping me busy. racerjim2 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Share Posted December 11, 2011 Hi, I don't know that we have met but I too am a cancer survivor I was 24 when it hit me. After having endured having the the left Trapizoid ( the muscle the runs from my ear to the tip of my shoulder )an exploratory, and what they refer to as a lymphphangeogram, I understand that they dont even do the last two any more, and then having to have some teeth removed prior to having radiation. My doctors put me throught all in about 10 days and this was just part of the staging process back then. That was in 1984. I had never sat in a race car prior to that time but had been to the races many times and dreamed to some day raceing myself. After my treatments and recovery I joined a crew of a superstock at San Antonio Speedway and helped with that car for about a year. I built my first car in 1986 and raced about half the races finishing 10th in and the points that year and my crew put us in position to challange for the championship in 1987 in the Street stock class. I have built raced and matained my cars since then and the last time I raced was about October of 2006 when my mothers health need my attention. I am now married and have a 4 year old son( that the doctors told me that I may not be able to have children ). My life has been full since my time with Cancer and there is no reason you cant go do the things you want to as well. Maybe we can meet along with Debbie at next years Snowball derby( you already told us you were pretty inovative Im sure you can find a way to stay out of the sun yet enjoy the races) your scars will heal and things can only get better from here. If you were refering to me I live between Bastrop & Austin But we raced many times at SA starting 1985 & THR & the old Longhorn tracks & numerous others.
