While on my way to Houston last weekend, I was driving through the Cuero/Gonzales area along I-10 and noticed a sign, saying Tornado Alley Speedway, next to the "On the Spot Tire" shop. Also noticed several bomber type cars in the field next to it. Any one have any info on it? Hey Jean, you live out that way don't ya? What's up?!?! Thanx.

Hey Reb,

The last I heard about a track going in arround Gonzales was about two years ago. Somebody was going to build a highbanked aspault track to compete against SAS. I haven't heard anything else about Gonzales since then.

I don't think that track is anything major . I had a friend that went

there on a Saturday about a year ago and from what I gathered

it is just a make-shift track set up to play on . He said there were

station wagons to trucks out there running around in a not really

organized fashion , no flag man , lights , scoring or anything .

Matter of fact , I pulled onto that road in January just to see what

the set up looked like and it did appear that the track area was

becoming pond ... That is a good area for a raceway , maybe somebody

will catch all of this and expand into a real racing situation .

A good quality dirt track in the are would be a good thing just like getting a paved track up in the metroplex area.
