imcafan
Billy i think you are not understanding Greg D. He just like the rest of us just wants to be able to go to race and have to have a motor for sos and another motor for everywhere else .As far as him having a new car and centex motor He works his butt off to have them and i for one would never hold that against anyone and yhere is a big difference between a centex imca motor and a outlaw motor . That is the reason Him and the rest of us want imca like you and i talked last night if they would do the imca rules and tech with the exception of the rearend like we spoke about i for one would be there . Buck I don't hpld anything against Greg D. I was just pointing out Imca racing can be just as expensive as most of us outlaw cars in south texas. Like I said last night we would be more than happy to compromise to make something work.
imcafan
STS was outlaw mods with a hell of a good promotor(OWEN), and it did not grow..This year STS does not even run mods..TRP was IMCA and what was the average car count compared to now..I37 went outlaw last year and what happened?? Now this year it is IMCA and has it grown??..How was the outlaw mod count at SOS last night??.Frank t Johnny sts had a good outlaw count before Ownen decided to go IMCA and the car count fell then because the majority of the racers that voted IMCA wouldn't travel to support him. Why don't you ask him what he thinks of IMCA. Unles he's changed his mind latley he dosen't care for them.I agree outlaw mods as they have been are going away. I just don;t think IMCA is the answer
imcafan
Big AL After all these years it's Mr. Hardcastle now. Yes Nicks car was at SOS last night as it has been except for three weeks. He also has made every week at TRP. It must make the promoters you race for down here knowing that there is at least one promoter that knows how to do it right. And he's not even sanctioned. rebelracewriter
I really don't think you can compare IMCA tracks of the past with today.....Many were scared off by the "claim rule"....That has changed to a swap option added now and claims(especially grudge-type claims) have dropped considerably.... As far as motor prices I have a pretty good idea on what IMCA guys are paying(yes they're getting out of hand now too) and what some of the outlaw guys put in theirs.....and believe me it's still nowhere near what "outlaw" motors cost.....Now can some people build their own cheaper than either....sure.....but overall replacement parts costs are probably less. Also everyone ALWAYS overlooks the other IMCA stuff Insurance, over and above what you or your track has... Points fund....I saw Victor saying it wasn't much....but how much was the track points fund? Contingency awards....Too many to list and all for just having a sticker on your car.....How many tracks give this? We've all been down this road before and kicked that damned dead horse till the maggots are pouring out..... But since STS dropped the class, most guys sold/parked their cars and are limited mod racing now.....From the results I've read from TRP and SOS the car count can't support the purse being paid.....That will kill the track.....So you can try a change or risk the tracks dropping the class or the purse....JMHO

8G RACING FAMILY
I thought this poll was for modified drivers to voice thier opinon. I don't know a lot of the screen names on here but I think what we should be concerned with is trying to save our class. there dosen't seem to be enough IMCA or Outlaw mods willing to travel to make a full field by themselves. I think in order to survive we need to meet somewere in the middle. I keep hearing how expensive outlaw mods are but I don't know of many southtexas outlaw mods that cost as much as a 2010 Harris with a centex or wells motor imca mod. People like dinsmore can afford to have the attitude of my way or the highway but I think most of us whould rather work to save the class. If the vote goes imca I hope all those cars show up unlike when sts did it and the vote was like 100 to 1 but nobody showed up to race. Eddie I appricate you letting us know what caused Saturday nights low car count. I didn't know you had a dog in this fight sinse the last I heard your sponsors didn't pay you to race out of town. By the way the rules that were using this year can be found on the internet. Big Al I also want to congralate you on knowing the math that makes race tracks profitable. I didn' know it could be so simple. Maybe you could give clases. Now if you would only support I37 as much as STS. Are you going to a outlaw race next Saturday instead I37? Unlike some Promoters Bruce at Texana has commited to try to save this class. I think Jim and Kelly will try to do the same. Again I think this needs to be only people responding that will or do race modifieds at SOS. Bill Hardcastle WOW I HAVE PUT A LOT OF HARDWORK INTO MY STUFF AND LIKE I SAID MY STUFF AND I ALSO HAVE PUT A LOT OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY INTO THE RACING AROUND SOUTH TEXAS SUPPORTING TRACKS AND I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY U THINK ITS MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY AND FOR UR INFO ITS A 2011 LAST I KNEW U ALL HAD THE BEST OF THE BEST SO DONT KNOCK ME I PUT THIS CAR TOGETHER LIKE THE LAST FROM THE GROUND UP AND THATS A LOT OF LATE NIGHTS SO MAYBE SOMEONE OUT TO TRY IT MY WAY AND WORK THERE ASS OFF I HELP SO MANY RACERS U HAVE NO IDEAL SO U MUST NOT KNOW ME AT ALL AND CENTEX JUST PIECED TOGETHER ANOTHER MOTOR FOR ME I SPENT 2356.12 AND THAT INCLUDED A NEW SET OF RODS AND PISTONS SO TRUST ME I DONT HAVE THE BEST STUFF I JUST WORK WHAT I HAVE AND THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT AND LOVE ITS ALL GOOD GREG DINSMORE

shadow1970
Seems everyone has a opinion in this matter so here goes mine. Support the cars you have had all year, you are not going to change all the rules with out talking to the drivers and get good results. For a fact the 7x,5w,75 where not talked to about going to imca type cars. If you would like to get more cars to the track like the imca cars than get together with the drivers and see if there is a way to meet in the middle. A example of that is what New Mexico speedway is doing. Got 18 degree aluminum heads? How about 13 degree aluminum heads? Then bolt the on and come and race because this year’s Fall Nationals is going to allow Aluminum heads other than 23 degrees. The rules on engines will be as follows: Aluminum heads other than 23 degrees must weigh a minimum of 2,500lbs 23 degree aluminum heads must weigh a minimum of 2,400lbs DIRTcar West Engines must weigh a minimum of 2,350lbs Flat Tappet Engines must weigh a minimum of 2,300lbs All Modifieds, regardless of engine style must run a 8,000 RPM chip and it must be out of reach of the driver. Now this guy is thinking outside the box may not be perfect but it is a starting point for all. By the way the 3 cars above all vote OUTLAW..... imcafan
Greg, this is why I don't post on forums. I have nothing against you or the choices you make racing. I guese neither one of use know what the other one has. We buy used cars and motors or piece togather one using local machine shops. Far from the 430 Mullins everboby thinks we have.I took your post saying cya to mean if it wasen't imca you wouldn't be there. So everbody understands this is Bill not Nick.
