lenny66 Posted June 14, 2010 Report Share Posted June 14, 2010 Did not get to see the race on Sunday, but I just saw a "high-light" (if that's what you want to call it") of the "Start your Engines" command by Adam Sandler & Kevin James. Didn't like it, not funny or cutesy. Personally, I found it disturbing. Why not have a military service member or a military veteran give the command. I see that NA$CAR wants to become the next WWE with all the flash and "stars" around, but it's supposed to be about racing. I can understand how you guys say get a military man or someone out of the stands but NASCAR is about publicity as well as the racing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought it was original and funny. The racing is the main thing but a little humor can always help, never hurt. While I didn't think it was funny and actually kinda winced at it, I'll take that rather enthusiastic command over the monotone version done by some corporate no-name that has the wish-I-was-somewhere-else look about him.
