I think it comes from having been there when the stands were full of screaming fans and lots of guys were racing lots of race cars and putting on great shows. It's the memory of that. Then, to walk out on a straight-away of an abandoned, vacant track, with weeds growing up through the old pavement. How quiet it is, compared to when that particular track was in its hay-day. On the map of Riverside I saw the old lights from the infield are still up and thats about it. Eeery....
