  1. I had a blast! We also had (9) Super Stocks and (7) Outlaws....more importantly new racers showing up to race. The most important thing, Gina got those stands packed up while maintaining COVID policies. Also, great idea to have all the drivers come hang out in front of the stands and let Rodney talk us up...lol. I'm looking forward to the next action packed race come next Saturday!!
  2. I think I like this new revised schedule more than the original. Who's all going out this weekend?
  3. I can vouch for the speed of this car, always setup well and gave me a challenge to compete against. If you already have a 602 and the desire race, you just might be able to practice the weekend ...or race it on April 18th at HMP
  4. Thank you for releasing the schedule and it surely will be exciting. I've heard the 2021 season will be even better! I'm happy with the rules and there are some cars out there that could run in the Super Stocks, however choose not to. Hell I may even try to run my Super Stock with the Outlaws just to see how well I do!
  5. HOLY SMOKES....I love this idea. For the teams that only have the driver and spotter this comes of great value. I'm sincerely grateful you got this program started. In regards to practice tomorrow, I'll tell you there are a few of us including myself that don't have our cars ready. However come March 7th.....its showtime.
  6. One thing for sure Speed51 is all over the place with their short track racing coverage, great stuff, we need this kind of exposure at HMP. The coverage is just short of MAVTV As soon as I saw all the action at New Smyrna I Googled how close it is with the goal of taking a shot at that World Series of Stock Car Racing next year ...and stock car racing is far from dead, it just needs a couple more solid kicks in the ass here in Texas, not to mention this 2020 season is projected to be a great one!!
  7. That's what I'm talking about, awesome to hear your wanting to mix it up and come to asphalt. PM me and I can help you get some base lines of what to look for on your setup, I'm still figuring this whole suspension setup magic out myself but I'm willing to help where I can. My first advice though would be to read the rules thoroughly
  8. My better judgement tells me there will be subtle rule changes to the super stocks and no adoption of another class. For the guys that showed up and brought their cars out, expect things to work in their favor. For the pro stocks, pure stocks or whatever people call them.....HMP needs a bit more commit than a few guys showing up for something significant to happen. You guys have the upcoming sponsor/ media track day coming up to make a meaningful impression.
  9. Does anyone know if there were any photographers out at this race? I'm looking for some photos
  10. I'm glad someone asked about this cause I was gaining curiosity about the track as well. Fortunately, we have a ANOTHER solid schedule at HMP this year and the classes are only growing. The TSTRS team did an outstanding job wrapping up the season in 2019 and I'm looking forward to what will be discussed at the banquet. I've said this once and I'll say it again....the growth of HMP is on us racers to get our cars there, NOT the promoters/ officials catering to our request. With that said, I'll see you asphalt racers next month if you decide to go to practice day.
  11. As unfortunate as the DQ is when he drove like the world was ending the next day....his team knew exactly what they were doing when they installed the caps. I'm sure at that level teams understand the political side of the manner between different sponsors. Your right Tim, if your not cheating your not trying and sometimes those odds bite you right in the wiener. An extraordinary driver is now known as a cheater when he probably would have been just as fast without those caps.
  12. PREACH BROTHER!! These guys drive from out of state to run, compared to guys that won't drive 50 miles to run just for fun and complain. This would be an awesome race to go watch, I'm grateful our local track is getting that much attention.
  13. Racers/ Fans, I've been working more and more on producing content from a racer and a team members perspective and this is the second video I've played around with. Most of us watch Youtube quite frequently for a variety of things, so I figured I'd give it a shot. You are my audience and I ask that you give me feedback... if you'd prefer more in-car footage (location in the car as well), outside of car or maybe interviews with people. As you can guess, I not only own, setup, drive and repair my car......I handle all the media as well. If you enjoy it, please like and spread the video.
  14. Rodney we certainly appreciate the kind words and making sure all Super Stocks made the race wasn't easy by any means. My car didn't see the scales until Friday night and the 55 was still getting welded on Saturday morning! Not to mention all the challenges the 40, 51, 89, 24 had in the pits prior to the race. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a few new Super Stocks out there along with seeing Kenny get behind the wheel again. My car may have got tore up a bit but it's mostly cosmetic. I'm very enthusiastic about the 2020 season and look forward to another memorable year. I also very much appreciate the (3) Pro Stocks that made appearances this season, we know for a fact there is at least a few of you out there willing to race.
  15. Brian I truly admire that mindset...”race the track not the cars.” Many times I feel I’m doing just that, improving my lap times. Unless I’m door to door or bumper to bumper with another racer, it’s just me v. Me out there. Yes it cost money and stuff breaks, but seat time and experience isn’t improved by sitting in the stands or having your car sit at home. You either want to race, improve your craft and grow a class or don’t. Racers this is Speedfest coming up and it’s kinda like the Daytona of HMP. This is everyone’s time to shine and bring the trophy home. I’d fully support all Prostocks starting at the front of the main race just to make it fun. Some of y’all have some strong motors and the Super stocks can just glide through the corner better...bring them out and let’s have fun.
  16. AMEN!!!! I would think if all these former Pro Stocks or almost Super Stocks we're to come out next Saturday, they would then have a stake in how the track progresses. I don't see Gina just allowing a class to come back when she has only seen maybe 2 show up the whole season. Remember that ol saying..."Build it and they will come" well Gina built it......so when are you Pro/ Street Stock racers coming out? Anybody who knows my Dad and I know when we bring 2 cars out it's at most 3-4 people in our pits and that includes the wives, we're all here to help each other...from strapping a driver in, pushing a car or loaning parts Hell...I broke all kinds of parts this past race and we had a handful of teams helping us get back on the track. A big thanks to Damon, Kenny, Bubba and Deed for the help, tools and parts
  17. Now just imagine if we could get all the Super Stocks that are in the points standings on the track at once.....that would make for an entertaining race.
  18. I’ve been using #texasshorttrackracing #stockcarracing #cratemotor and #horsepowerprojects
  19. Racers/ Team Owners/ Fans, Something I've been watching closely and noticed a trend in is our exposure to social media at our local tracks. I see tons upon tons of post showing action at others tracks around the nation and these tracks have some serious car counts and tons of sponsors. Which just as many of you may imagine of the track and cars are getting exposure, more will jump on. I know I may only be a racer and team owner, however I ask that everyone use social media (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook) effectively with the right hashtags. I think Facebook is old news and everyone uses Instagram mostly, with that said, pull them phones out take pictures and video of live actions. We need more people to know this track exist and we'd like to continue turning laps on it. Any representatives from TSTRS please post any and all hashtags we should use in order to be most effective. Much Appreciated, Corey
  20. With just a few days away....all of us racers are either burning the midnight oil or just cleaning up our stallions of fire breathing power. It's been too long since I got my stock car racing fix and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone out there Especially fans like toyotatim.....I'm sure Gina and Mary Ann would appreciate your attendance like the rest of us. You fans are what keep racing ALIVE!!
  21. As disappointing as this is Tropical Storm Imelda did just flood Houston less than a week ago, I'd say the right call was made. Us racers would be more upset having taken days off work and traveling long distances just to have your main race rained out. I have plenty of other of things that I can get done this weekend that took priority under getting my car ready and going to the race. To the TSTRS team- Thank you for calling the race as early as you did.
  22. I don't believe any official news has been put out and I wouldn't expect there to be any as we only have a few races left in the season. From a promoters perspective, I can only imagine these cars don't exist or don't have the desire to truly invest the time to get their car ready and race. Heck for some it's as easy as putting the car on the trailer. How's the old saying go..."To win a race, you must first start the race." So if these Pro Stocks, Factory Stocks or whatever Stocks don't show up just to race and show their presence and willingness in the race community, how can one expect someone else just to magically make it happen for them? I don't mind making it fun and starting a lap down to let any Pro Stocks run with the Supers.
  23. It’s either Jeff Garvin https://jeffgarvinphotos.zenfolio.com/ or this gentleman Manvel Motorsports seems to be out there more consistently this season.
  24. Thank you sir! Just what I was looking for.... See y'all out at HMP next weekend to get more taken.
  25. Well Scotty...if you really want to race, you and I might be able to work something out. I have another Super Stock sitting in my storage that I just pulled the drivetrain out of and have realized the driver box is to short for me. I'd prefer to sell the car...but it just has to many good parts on it and it's actually an old late model from SA. I firmly believe you are still ready to get out there and turn laps, however I can't say the same for other parties. I seriously considered running the car at the end of the year but I'm not cutting up the driver box when I need to focus on the 22. One thing for sure in the SS Class, if your not consistently running mid to high 15s (dam near the Pro Truck times), you won't stand a chance. I only know of a few Pro Stocks that managed to get under a 16 and they had plenty of room to be faster, however the rules didn't help.
