    His first according to Rodney. And the outlaws raced before the trucks, so his first asphalt race he was a winner. Against a guy that I’m not sure I have ever seen lose a race in that class in the last couple years. 
     

    it’s hard to win in the trucks out there as they get pretty wild. But he had to be pulled off the top of Kruger in the 14 and still went on to finish 2nd in that race. Helps that he was in top notch equipment as well. I have seen him race dirt, the kid just wins.

    Very valid point.....Just the way it has split up some of the drivers is not encouraging to longevity of one of the two big Sprint Car series.....Reminds me of the 80's when the split between WoO and USA happened and it split the drivers up....But WoO survived that deal and slowly rebuilt the Sprint Car numbers despite some butt hurt feelings among drivers/car owners.

     

    I agree, with all the success WoO has had over the years, the high limit deal appears to be a very formidable deal. I typically believe when things of this nature takes place, it is usually born out of animosity. I’m curious to know what that was.

    I’m curious to see what WoO looks like in a year or 2 after high limit really gets established. I feel that in a year or 2 high limit is going to have some nice stacked purse money.

    I am not defending Hill or Creed, probably safe to say there is/was enough blame to spread around between both drivers on that deal. But there is probably a couple of hundred thousand reasons for Childress to be upset. And that in itself may give him the right to respond how he chooses. And I don't consider Childress's Xfinity program to be junk. They race for titles within that program. Say what you will about the Cup side, but the xfinity stuff has always been pretty good. 

  5. I'm pretty sure Childress is well within his right to be a little jacked up over that deal. 2 of his cars running 1 and 2, neither one of them win. One of the cars is going to have to be winched on the hauler. Neither one of them advance to the round of 4 to race for a title. At the end of the day they race for titles, trophies, and money, that sequence of events there nixed a title, a trophy, and first and 2nd place pay window money, and i'm sure a bunch of money as well on end of year finishing order.

    But if you are a fan who has disconnected from, or never wanted to be connected to all the minutia, and wants to skim the tracks within driving range for high level info, it's highly inefficient.  A friend asked me the source of the news about Cotton Bowl.  It took me a long time to find it.  

    People might say "Well, if you were a real fan......blah, blah".  You know what?  There are hundreds of messages competing for my eyeballs.  There are maybe six tracks I would like to monitor.  But if they want my eyeballs, the info has to be easy to find.  It is hard enough to screen out the crap I don't want from people looking for me without taking additional time to look for what should be looking for me but isn't. 

    Let me turn this around - What about "Well, if you were a promoter.....".   The word promoter used to have a meaning that related to promotion.  The only promoters I can recall off the top of my head have been Mandelbach and Gina.  Now it is a glorified term for Track Operator.  The attitude seems to be that people will beat a path to their track (when they haven't before) just because they are now the operator.  

    How hard would it be to also paste some of the big picture items from the FB page onto Speedzone at the same time it's put on FB?    Here, the format makes it very easy to focus on what you care about vs. what you do not.

    Well said, but I would like to add, if you think as a promoter you are putting out the information to all involved on the Facebook, that couldn’t be further from reality. 
     

    Now that you mention John, the place was well cared for during that stretch. It was magical, done well enough they had a pretty decent radio ad budget. Good times back then. I think Mr Owen will bring stability to the place. That’s what it needs for a couple years then it will explode.

  7. That’s a very promising interview right there. The place is in desperate need a stability. It’s seem it may have showed up midway into this season. When HMP was in the able and capable hands of John M, it was an electric place to go to the races. With full fields of trucks and modifieds, and good car counts across the rest of the classes. 
     

    I was only able to make 2 races there this season, and am out of town for work right now and won’t make this weekend. But I can appreciate Mr Owens desire to not over saturate the schedule. Just stabilize it and it will take off, I’ve seen it before there.

    I can understand that. I have no idea how many people log onto this forum. I don’t do the face book deal, but it seems to me this would be a simple universal spot to throw some information on about the upcoming activities at any given track.
