Hate losing tracks, hell should be used to it by now but when it is one with the years of service and history of CC Speedway it's a little more of a kick in the balls when it's actually gone.

I agree. Especially on more than one occasion when the owner said he would not sell it. Even appeared to be angry that someone would say that.

I recall him at age 14 driving his street stock on the outside at Longhorn to beat guys two and three times his age....probably how he got that nickname

I recall him racing at Corpus Christi Speedway. He seemed to be giving Greg Carlucci Sr. a hard time. I was amazed he was that young then.

You're right. That is a nice truck for sure. I never thought about a pressure relief valve. As always, you make sense. :P

I'm looking for a major investor as I type, Radical.  I figure I'll need pretty much unlimited resources to put CC Speedway back on the national stock car racing map.  Look out Five Flags, here we come!

Just to give you an idea,  I plan on keeping the track configuration exactly as it is, because it's the most competitive short track in the country - and always has been. We will put some fresh asphalt down, but the banking and configuration will not change.  In addition, plans call for some descent retaining walls and safety fencing along with all new support buildings, multi-level scoring / media tower, updated utilities and state of the art rest rooms and drivers' lounges.

Still working on plans for the pits, but with the right investor, we'd see paved pits with water and electricity and WiFi in all 200 individual pits.  And to keep everything on the up and up, I envision a a large, well-lit tech building named after me, of course. I can see it now.  Welcome to the "Nick the Prick" Tech Building.

In terms of PR, everything will be high tech in terms of internet, press box, TV-ready wideband and a state of the art scoring system.

Juts to show that I'm old school,  I plan on retaining the flag stand for old times sake.

So, get in touch with me with you investment offers.  No tire kickers, please.

    Nick

I like your plans. Sounds like you've thought about this for a long time.

America's vote, cmon that hasn't happened since Reagan, it wouldn't be so bad if people were voting for two candidates but they are voting for Trump and not for Trump, Biden just happens to be the lucky one on the other side.

    Ain't that the truth?

Nathan, the issue of wether Kyle got a free ride or not will always be up for debate. I personally don’t believe there should ever be a waiver for races missed. They all know the risk going in that it is a dangerous sport and they are at risk. And further more, he got injured during an xfiniti race. He didn’t have to be in that one. He knowingly jeopardized his cup season by being in that race.

I agree 100%. I feel a driver should miss no more than 2 races to remain in the hunt.

  7. Haven't they already ran races on dirt there? I know maybe not Cup cars but I'm sure other type racing. They have to know all the good and bad about putting dirt down. Sounds like they feel it's worth it.

All you CC folks do OK through this?

All went well here. Just lost of bunch of leaves off the tree. Nothing else except for losing power for about 15 1/2 hours. I was watching television about 8:00 Saturday night thinking we came through it ok when bam!! No power. It got hot quick in this house. I was able to open a window on the back door and a window in a spare bedroom on the other side of the house and got a nice breeze coming through. It got so cool I had to go under the covers. It's got me thinking pretty seriously about getting a standby generator. I have a small portable but nothing big enough to keep us cool.

Father  INLAW  asked that you tell alan he is number one . the main  weatherman they like to watch ..  he takes the time to explain and teaches you what to look for .. / when alan in mentioned with charley saint john  that is a big compliment down here for those who remember charley ...we all put our faith and lives in charley hands .charley was spot on 99 percent of the time .. .CHARLEY  taught me and others how to read the weather back in the days  personally.. priceless and alan is priceless ..

I agree. Alan is the best there is. I appreciate the way he explains the weather so us laymen can understand what is happening. Charlie St. John was one of the best as well.

Yes he blocked, they all were blocking or would have blocked.  Where the problem is that no one has mentioned is why the he should of blocked and that it was totally pointless for him to do it. Yes you are racing and its part of the superspeedway game but Logano was a lap and half to two laps short on fuel.  So why block when you are going to have to pit anyway.  Even as much as they tried to save fuel they still hadn't saved enough.   maybe a different story if he was on same pit sequence but he wasn't.

If they are short on fuel they will still block because there's always the chance of a caution. Come in under caution and everyone will be packed up again.
