I've had the pleasure of making a couple of races at Bowman Gray. The most recent was this past May. Amber Lynn and her class had a 100-lap race. She won and led the entire race. If she has the opportunity to move up, I would be willing to bet she'll do good in whatever she drives.

I just wanted to say, the aero manipulation using the wrap and padding (tape) to move it up a couple MM is quite brilliant.
Also cost them a lot.
Denny's Instagram video with the "300k piece of tape'' in the Eagle's mouth on the trophy is outright hilarious, and kudos to Chase for acknowledging the hollow win and wanting to earn it instead of have it. Pretty cool.

I was never a fan of Junior. I definitely was not a fan of Senior. But I do admire his honesty. Especially when he calls out his own driver for what he does on the track. We need more people like him in the business,

i see dirt going the same way as paved .. the cost each year just to keep up with the jones will do as it always has sooner or later a class is gone .. but that has always been part of racing .., just to figure the cost to race a car counting fuel pit passes entry food and such min average low side about $300.00for a s small team that is if you dont have major damage.my son decided it was time to get out, cost just to buy the things the car needed . and yes rod getting in the top five is a win today ..u see alot of great drivers good teams but dont have the money to keep up or buy those $ 800.00 shocks .
I agree. If you want to run up front you best have some money backing you. Otherwise, you'll just be out there going around. Just seeing what is in the classifieds is way more than I ever had to pay in the 90's for anything. Yes, I know price of things go up but if you consider inflation I think it has gone up more than the economy. I also believe the dirt tracks will eventually go away as well. More developers are buying up property. They can offer the track owner an offer he couldn't refuse. I hope it never comes to that.

Metroracer, i agree with you 100%. I miss those days long gone as well. I have been a race fan all my life. I grew up in North Carolina near Charlotte. I remember listening to it on the radio with my father because it wasn't televised. I agree with HiTech about the cost just to race. I did all my racing in the mid 90's at Corpus Christi Speedway. I raced off my per diem money from traveling for my work. Now when I look in the classified and see how much cars and parts are going for, I wonder how an everyday Joe like myself can afford it. I would love to see a full stand of people at an asphalt track. I came back from a vacation to North Carolina 2 weeks ago. I had the opportunity to go to Bowman Gray Stadium to see a race. It was unbelievable how full the stands were. These stands go 3/4 around the track and it seem to almost be a standing room only situation. The car count was amazing as well. I can only hope we can have this again in Texas. At 67 years old it is something I would like to see before I head off to that place in the sky with my wife.

It's just that some of us attended one of Nick's suspension workshops. I for one still have a head that spins in one direction and does a 180 and spins in the other direction. This cycles about every 3 minutes. Once mine and possibly others can stop this wobbly situation maybe the chatter will pick up.

I have no issues with Logano. He hit him a little harder than I think he expected to. He was so much faster than Byron those last couple of laps. Made up a lot of ground. Byron had already pushed Logan up to the wall earlier and Logano did just what he said at the end. I like Byron but he had to expect it. Everyone was talking about Logano when he started in Cup how he needed to get the message out to the other drivers. They were using him up every race. They said he needs to stand up for himself. When he started taking up for himself a lot of people took a 180 opinion about it. I can guarantee you there are drivers out there on our local tracks that may not have had won a race in a while (if ever) and it they were running this well that they would not have done the same thing. I think it all depends on who you pull for, I guess. Logano was deserving in this win.

Looks like someone could get a heck of a deal. If only I was 30 years younger.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this interview. I believe I watched Carlucci Jr. run his first stock car race. For sure I was there when he became the Flying Carlucci. He has always been a hell of a driver. One year in the 90's they had a Stockcar Spectacular in Corpus Christi. He had recently rolled his car and I asked him if he wanted to race my car in that race. He accepted and drove the wheels off of it. His Dad was one heck of a driver too. I remember one night Jr. was saying his car was loose so Senior took it out in the heat race I was in. I was running behind him throughout the race. Every time we got into the corner that car was all kinds of crossed up. Senior was not backing off the throttle but stayed in it. How someone had that much car control was unbelievable to me. I wish Jr. and Ryan the best this season. I plan on coming to the track for sure this season. I have not been to a race in many years. Spent the time making sure my wife was taken care of until she passed away last year. Good luck to you Jr. and congratulations on your win and I am praying for your Dad.

WELL DEPENDING on how much they want to pay me for info i give them what they want .. hope you dont want a cut of that part . BUT IN ALL REALITY . HE IS JUST WHAT THIS CITY NEEDED WHEN IT COMES TO WEATHER .
I agree. Alan is the first weatherman I have seen that can give you the weather forecast but also explain it to you in a way that you can understand. Everyone else just says it will be hot and windy or cold and wet.

I moved to Oklahoma last year in March and started working with a OCRS and ASCS Team up here. Our first race is next weekend at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, OK with the Oil Capital Racing Series. I have to say racing up here in Oklahoma is on another level nothing against Texas racing we have 11 tracks we are racing at with 7 of those all within an 1.5 hours of Tulsa. The farthest we will travel is to Eldon Missouri to run at Lake Ozark Speedway. Last year we finished 3rd in points after missing a couple races with some motor issues. The ASCS Car we will run select Sooner Region and ASCS National Races.
Thanks Josh42. Good luck this year.

The new racing season is quickly coming upon us. I was wondering if anyone has built any new cars or put new bodies on their cars. I would like to see what people will be racing this year so post your pics if you can.

I am concerned about it as well. They are going to have to step up there game up there to get some folks to show up. I got concerned when SMI pull the spring date and went to Austin with it. Whats to say they won't do the same with the fall race and take it somewhere else.
I don't see them getting rid of all the NASCAR races in Texas. Texas still made out with them moving one race to Austin and gaining the All Star race. Who's to say it won't stay this way for a few years?

NAH nicks first question what is a car .. they would fail ..second question what is a cell phone . they would hit a hundred .
Who do you think did the suspension work on the stagecoaches, buckboards and covered wagons?

I watched him in the Busch race at Texas Motor Speedway years ago. Him and his crew acted in the most professional manner.

I'm thankful for family. As some of you know I lost my wife March 2nd after years of poor health and then the virus took her for the final. My children and her children have been there for me the whole way. We still get together both sides of the family. My children check in with me and her children does the same. I'm still treated with respect and love from both sides. I could never had made it this far if they were not here for me. I can only say to you and to beg you to tell your significant other and everyone you care for each and every day how much you love them. Tomorrow is not a guarantee.

That was a nice bit of driving. Did not know how much more abuse he could put on the car in turn 4. Wasn't able to tell but he must have put most of the field a lap down if not all. Do you know the drivers name?

Y'all can spin it however you need to. It's my opinion (my right) & I ain't alone. After 1/6, I don't know how anyone could still buy into the Trump Train Crashfest... It's always resembled a demo derby without any rules..
Have a good weekend...
Yes, you have that right but Lonestar SpeedZone Forum is not the place to be doing it. This is a racing related forum, not politics. Try your stuff on Facebook.

Amen HiTech. This country was in a lot better shape than it has been since January. If anyone doesn't believe that than they are blind to facts. This message sent out to the Trump supporters was uncalled for. Maybe I will need to take a trip with you to San Antonio for my punishment with Nick. But to defend our beliefs about the state our country is in makes it worth it.

ABOUT TIME we saw some after race action .tame as it was compared to the old days where a few knuckle bumps were the order . i think chase was in the wrong it was one of those just hard racing deal where a lap car played a part ..two racers not giving an inch all out racing they way it should be ... not really a harvick fan but that was just racing ....chase helping a team mate out i dont see an issue he didnt back up and block harvick just held up and took his line away .. harvick could not get to chase to move him ..when you race lap after lap that close and that hard things happen the nature of it .
I will have to disagree with you just a little. This may have been one of those racing incidents but when it keeps happening time after time by the same person it gets more suspect. I'm behind everything Chase did. When I was racing it always seemed like it was this one guy that we would have some kind of incident. I even had his brother ask me as I came off the track why I put his brother in the wall. I'm trying to figure this out because for the whole practice laps his brother was on my inside. The point I'm trying to make is something has obviously been going on for a while between these two. It was said something about Darlington. I'm sure there were other incidents through out the season. Hopefully after their discussion in the hauler and sleeping on it things will be okay between them. If not, then we'll most likely see who the main culprit is.

i could not stand his brother either for the longest time . BUT as of late i pull for his brother to win at times .. something about age will change you ..i dont think kyle has that in him .one reason i have never liked him .. YOU DO NOT PUT YOUR TEAM DOWN LIKE HE DOES NEVER ON THE DRIVER ... AND you do not just run over cones like that there is a reason for them .. IF 50.000 is all nascar is going to do .. THEN NASCAR has gone nuts .. innocent lives do not matter .
$50,000 is not nearly enough to rattle some sense in that boys head.

Looks like a nice piece in the pictures.
That's the Wilson I'm thinking of.

They have parked him before many years ago after intentionally wrecking someone in the truck series. Hornaday?

I don't blame Larson too much, nor Chase. It was a racing incident. I wondered why they were choosing the outside lane. But I noticed on the Xfinity race and the Cup race that the outside lane would use that runoff area and was able to gain more speed coming out of it and keeping the lead.
