Is Maupin going to be there?
-
The good thing about Maupin is he races the right way. I saw Kruger got DQ;d. Any idea why?
-
To the best of my knowledge this is the first time , or first time in a long time, Jared Maupin has raced asphalt. A first and a second place. And beating Barker .This guy continues to impress.

It is kinda sad that the end of every big track race ends up with a bunch of destroyed cars just because you can't lift or can't accept 2nd place.
-
Barker must be high on the all time win list.

Is HMP the Big-H dirt track paved over? If so should had left it alone.

Interesting thought...........Bubba Wallace Calls Out Problem With NASCAR After Daytona 500 (msn.com).

I should had said the biggest short track race in 2024 I guess.

I just want to thank all the Texas track promoters , racers and their crews primarily at the South Texas Race Ranch for providing some great racing and entertainment during the 2023 season. The attached video 7 minutes long but is worth every minute. Merry Christmas and a Happiest of New Years to all!

I heard this was the same car that Chris Brown dominated and won in a few years ago.

WOW! This combined with the BIG Modified event in Waco and the World of Outlaw Late Model race at Rocket Raceway Park on Sept 28 some HUGE events coming to Texas in 2024!

I noticed on the Heart O Texas schedule on Sept.18 ,19 , 20 , 21 the Mod Wars 100 event. 100 laps $ 50,000 to win for USRA . UMP and USMTS Modifieds. Rules
UMP, USRA, And Usmts
Steel Small Block only unless running CT525
Any aluminum head allowed
2400 weight rule for everyone
Front Tire only options-Hoosier G60, Hoosier M30 or M60, and American Racer KK704
Rear Tires Only option- Hoosier Non Stamped G60 Tire
Deck Height 39" before the race no exceptions
5" spoiler
USRA/TOMS rules apply on all other rules except ump noses and bodies allowed.
If running a ump nose you will have to run a 4" rear spoiler -
All three deserving of the awards.

Wow! Saw some youtube of this race. Seems to be a lot of dumps. Can't say I blame the 81. Cops should let them fight!

I love big season-ending races. I hope they all have great weather, big car counts and lots of spectators.
Cotton Bowl did ! Crowd count Friday night was bad but Saturday night was full. Car count was announced as 177 on Saturday night.Weather was good. Racing was really good too.

Sad news.

Getting close for those big season finales for South Texas race tracks. First up is Cotton Bowl Speedway Oct 13 and 14. Last years event had 140+ cars and was an intersting and great event. My hotel is booked and car rented so can't wait to get there. Next up is I-37's TDK event. I-37 has always delivered when I go so I'm looking forward to this as well. This is followed by the Texana Raceway Clash.Nov 17,18. Closing out the season is the South Texas Race Ranch $5000 to win Sportmod Shootout. Lots of great racing events and we should try to make as many as we can.

Good to see Broc Bowen is racing in the area again.

Back in the late 70's early 80's we would drive up to SAS every weekend. He was one of our favorites along with John Kelly. After the races we would go and speak to him and he was always cordial to us. As the years went by when he was at the track and saw us he would greet us with a hand shake and he how are you doing. Great driver and a nice guy. Kelly as well. Who remembers some of the many battles Davidson and Kelly had back then! Throw in Rick , Slick and others what a great time the TIDA/ROMCO days were! Pray for the best for Mr. Davidson.
