ROMCO race at TMS notes

Hey gang...

Ok, here's some of my notes on the ROMCO race...please keep in mind: some parts of these notes MAY BE WRONG...I had a few disadvantages while trying to jot down notes (for instance, the scoreboard kept posting the #113 car as "3", the #51 car as "1", and so on....if any fans/crew members/drivers can add to this or correct me, that's fine--just don't jump my case for being wrong! Christy Ganem was a BIG HELP--She was sitting next to me with a scanner...

Here are a couple things to keep in mind before I get into the race:

1) The race started at 4 P.M., and it had a 1 hour, 15-minute time limit; the race HAD to be over by 5:15 p.m. so the IRL could start practice on time...The full race, if run, was scheduled for 70 laps

2) Pit road speed limit was 45 MPH

3) Any lap on here with a YELLOW means it was a yellow-flag lap

4) ALL CARS WILL BE IDENTIFIED BY NUMBERS ONLY...FOR A COMPLETE RUNDOWN TOMATCH DRIVERS W/CAR NUMBERS, PLEASE SEE MY "ROMCO QUALIFYING"

Ok, here we go..

Funny, Reb!

Hey, it says clearly..."these are my NOTES"..

Knowing it would help the web site, I started taking notes...someone behind me (no names) said, "Hey, quit taking notes! You're supposed to enjoy this, like you're on vacation!" I told him I had to put SOMETHING on the web site...

Once a media member, ALWAYS a media member...and please, no kudos for doing it--this web site has helped me (and my show) a TON, I feel that sending you some notes from TMS was a way for me to pay y'all back...

There you go, Mr. 2-Minute Media Man! :P:lol:<_<

What happened to H. E. Naumann was that his spotter called the caution and H. backed off, but the officials didn't call the caution until after four cars went by, and they elected to leave H. E. in seventh instead of giving him his slot back.

By the way, H. E.'s Dodge was running a Chevy restrictor plate motor from Joe Cantrell for the TMS race.

TQ,

Thanks for the explanation. Everyone in the stands wondered what happened with H.E., as he certainly had the 3rd-best car out there and showed it the entire race! That's too bad...

Marc,

As you know, going to ANY race at TMS is a blast! Woulda been better if you coulda been up there taking pictures! And.....yah, Reb is down to 2 minutes on his next appearance in the MZone (we may give him 4 minutes again ONLY if he brings his Hooters' girlfriend!).. :P;):D

mitchellracer,

Chis was blackflagged for having a smoking car. H.E. was not penalized. He simply remained in the spot he was running when the yellow came out.

But I get your meaning. Sometimes having radio communications works in your favor and sometimes it doesn't.

Yes i only had 3rd and 4th gears, and during the second practice we had a cracked base plate on the carburator, during the race the car started bangnig out real bad so i pulled in and we changed jets again to lean it out, (before race we richend it up , didn't help), went back out on the track during the race and it still was banging out so i dunno...

Thanks Nick,

yes I do know about the information regarding both cars. (was scanning the entire race) I do know that the officials did call yellow WAY BEFORE the yellow actually came out.

Thanks again, and keep up the great work, love this site!!!!

Chuck I would have loved to go but no one asked me if I wanted to go and take pictures. Next year I hope to be able to do it. Maybe I can talk Reb to try to get me into the WoO show next year and maybe have a sliver of a chance to do the NASCAR race. (Crosses fingers)

Damn, down to two minutes now. <_< Me and my big mouth!!!!! LOL But if I didn't have an obnoxious personality, I'd have none at all!!! LMAO My biggest suggestion would be to replace numbers with names. numbers are so impersonal.

SASpeed, Good luck on TMS, I don't even get the perks through RAT Traxx. I use my contact w/a small Kerrvile paper for NASCAR and my friend that does all the WoO video or my TMS contact to get in the Outlaw show.

Reb,

You and I definitely have these "qualities" in common! :D

Marc, we'll see what we can do for you for the race at TMS in October...

Reb, you still good for the June 21st show? (okay, we'll give you 3 minutes!) LOL
