metroracer
Here in Houston, The struggling old Meyer Speedway asphalt race track on S. Main St. @ Hillcroft st. in S/W Houston with low fan attendance & car counts at the time in 1978 & 1979. All because of the new Dirt track "Big-H Speedway" in N/E Houston that had opened up for business also in 1978. Howard Willis was a big shinning star in the stock car division holding court in that division every Saturday night those two years in his #23 '67 Plymouth. Also holding court at the near by new big & wide race track Battle-Ground Speedway a few years later as well. So that "Big-H" poster is from the early years of the speedway in the very late 70s !!! Here in the Houston area we now know, that the old "BIG-H Speedway" is now the beautiful 3/8-mile high banked paved speedway known to us here in the Houston area as "HMP" (Houston Motorsports Park). Howard had went on to hold court in the Pro-Mods & Late Models at HMP as well later on in years of late.....
RETrott
It looks as though Allen Porter needed to loan his brother one l from his name. And Larry Schild seems to have a spare s. In any event, some great racers listed. Some of the very best of that era.
