I lost my mother in April unexpectedly, no loss is easy but losing a parent is losing a part of who we are in this life. May God be with you and your family. NickHolt Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 Here is the obituary for John's mother: Patricia “Patty” Kay (Hanger) Mandabach, 68, of Bargersville, was called to the Lord on Thursday, June 19, 2014. She was born in Greencastle on July 15, 1945, one of twelve children to the late Leonard and Cecilia (Moore) Hanger. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1963. She married John Mandabach on August 23, 1969 in Beech Grove, he survives. Patty always put other’s needs before her own and was a mother and friend to everyone she met. Her kind spirit and soothing voice could calm any baby or animal. Patty enjoyed trips to Florida, cruising car shows and spending time with her family and friends. Though she will be dearly missed, Patty left a lasting impression on all those that knew her. Patty is survived by her husband John Mandabach of Bargersville,two children, John Mandabach Jr. (Sarah) of Houston, Texas and Robert “Bob” Mandabach (Christina) of Avon, Indiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Breanne, Josh, Kateri, Charlie, Adelaide and Graham. In addition, she is survived by siblings: Leota Killin of Indianapolis, Jim Hanger (Loretta), Faye Caylor of Spencer, Leonard “Jr.” Hanger, Chuck Hanger (Josie) of Indianapolis, and Karen Schmidt of Bargersville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Lee Hanger and Lloyd Hanger, a sister Charlotte Chance and two infant brothers. A service will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, Indiana. Friends may come Monday from 4-8 PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com.
