Green flies Iron Man Challenge checkers at Hancock County Speedway

BRITT, Iowa-Derek Green took home the Iron Man Challenge trophy and $750 paycheck Wednesday night, winning the USRA Stock Car main event at the Hancock County Speedway.

From the outside of the second row, Green took the lead on the first lap and never looked back, leading all 20 laps and beating runner-up Calvin Lange to the checkered flag by about six car-lengths.

Current Iron Man points leader Tom Schmitt finished third after starting eighth on the grid, with Decorah drivers Danny Sacquitne and Kyle Falck claiming the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

On Thursday, both the USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods are back at it again about an hour-and-a-half northwest of Britt, Iowa, at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, Minn., where the USRA Stock Car feature winner will take home a $750 paycheck while USRA B-Mods will race for a $500 top prize and an increased payout throughout the main event field.

Hot laps are slated for 7:00 with racing to follow.

The Fairmont Raceway is a high-banked 1/2-mile dirt oval located 1.0 mile south of I-90 (exit 99) on CR 39 (1300 N. Bixby Rd., Fairmont, MN 56031). For more information call (507) 382-4531 or (507) 382-4531 or visit www.fairmontraceway.com online.

Friday will find both divisions dishing up the dirt again with the USMTS Modifieds at the Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and the final night of the four-day stretch concludes Saturday at the I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D., with USRA B-Mods on the card.
