CougarGT
I recently bought a CCS front-runner and intend to race it at Kyle. I'm currently in process of swapping out a blown engine, then I'll be moving onto the safety stuff. The car already has a nice professionally welded cage, and the PO installed a plate under the gas-tank. The rules on the Kyle webpage are a little vague. From the general rules page: "All cars including Grand Stocks must run a racing wheel on right front with a minimum 1/2” diameter wheel studs." - Does this include ministocks? - What constitutes a "racing wheel"? - I recall seeing most cars with standard steel rims. My car currently has 4 factory steel rims. ". Items not allowed regardless of class. Traction control, on board timing, data acquisition, or abs brake systems." - My car has ABS. Remove it or pull the fuse? I'd prefer to install the non-abs prop valve and remove the pump. A very easy swap on my car. ". All competitors are required to have a scanner, it is optional to be listened to by either the driver or spotter unless you do not have 2-way radios it must be worn by the driver" - What type of scanner would you recommend? "Transponders 1. Will be on any car on the track at anytime" - I assume this statement means "Transponders are required for all cars"? - If they are required, what type? Any recommendations for the aluminum racing seat? Thanks, Dan

sandersracing
We use raceceiver http://www.raceceiver.com/ for transponders you have a few options think the track might rent them. Or you can get a flex transponder that you have to buy a yearly subscription or you can buy one that will last for ever http://www.mylaps.com/en

CougarGT
Thanks for the tips. I saw the schedule came out and the rules are due out soon. I got the replacement engine back in the car this weekend. After that I'll be looking to start on the necessary safety changes. -Dan
