Sprints at Anderson

500 laps on that short track has to be awesome to run.

Fun to watch; I was at the Little 500 there in 1986; at that time, they pitted in the infield, with the "X" blocked off into two areas. You would either enter the pits in turn 2, and come back on turn 1, or go in at turn four and come back out at turn three. made for an interesting ballet of sprint cars and push trucks. But they ran the entire event, with a red flag and ambulance change, in about 2 1/2 hours.

For the

old timers here, that track could be a carbon copy of Pan American Toepperwein with the track configuration.

My uncle used to live across the street from the track and always had good tickets for us to watch the races there. he passed away in 91 and I have not been back. We saw a car jump the barricade and launch into the infield pits. Sent a few people to the hospital. Always liked Anderson.
