MitchyBobby
I have been asked to put this out there. Some of the racers want to run Friday night's race topless. This will entail removing the roof and sailpanels. I will look forward to the replies and make a decision Wednsday evening based on the feedback. Please voice your opinions. Seems interesting...is there any safety concerns doing this? Could be a start to something new!!!!
TRP
It's done up north quite a bit. I think it's a great idea! gives the fan a different take on what the drivers do in the cockpit! It's neat to see the drivers at work.
top_shelf_12
STS did it with Lim Mods a few times, usually the Tomlinson Memorial race but haven't done it in a year or two. I guess as long as your head doesn't extend past the halo of your cage it's relatively safe.
kwhardage
The plastic roofs that most of us run offer little in the way of safety. The roof would keep some smaller parts from coming down on you should things go wrong, but that type oblect would be coming mostly from the front or right side anyway. As far as head above the Halo, that's a major problem even with a roof.
arob
My goodness the head being outside the halo should NEVER be a problem!
