champ1796
Is the TPS guy?
rebelracewriter
Nope, this is Matt Marrell out of the Corpus area and he ran Texas Asphalt Modifieds and ROMCO/USRA Late Models.....He moved east to run Late Models around Hickory, etc. During one the San Antonio Speedway banquets I had the pleasure of sitting at the same table with Matt, his family and crew.....A very nice and personable group of people..... ShortTrackFan
I won't bet dinner but I do think that Matt ran TPS prior to USRA
rebelracewriter
I figured he was confusing Matt Merrell with Mike Merrell who ran TPS the past several years....I think Matt started off in Dwarf/Legend-type cars....
Brad
I don't think any TPS... From legends to tams. I see Hal Martin in there too he drove the (#39?) usra lm the last year or so.

Danielsen Motorsports
He ran a good race, wish the arca races were alittle longer so pit strategy plays alittle bigger role. racer61
Great Job Merrell! Just wish more than 1 of the top 6 would of tried to make a pass. It was kinda dissapointing not seeing a race to the line. jmo

Budman
It took a bit of searching, but I finally found it. Here is a pic of Matt posted by Nick Holt on a thread dated 07/12/05. Pretty cool pic.

Budman
Hey Nick or Deb, now that we have an old pic posted above, there is another one of my favorites that comes to mind. Do you remember another pic taken about this same time at HMP? It was of Gunnar, with a little "Ghost" looking over his right shoulder. If you can find it. Sure would like to see it again. race45
Yes Matt Merrill is originally from the Portland area but I think he lists Gregory as his hometown. His Mom and Dad own a place northwest of the high school in portland. I ran with him in TAMS and in USRA. where he ran both modiified and eventually Late models. He is currently working for a team out of the Minneapolis area. I had a call there 3 weeks ago but didn't have time to look him up.
