tps48
At the end of last season I had the idea I wanted to record the race from my front bumper. My hand held video camera worked ok inside the car but I wanted to put it closer to the track. I had a big 6 volt flashlight that I took the guts out of and put a new piece of lexan for the front lens. I zip tied the flaslight housing to the front bumper, turned on the camera, put the camera in the housing wrapped with foam, and screwed the lens on. This was the result The flashlight cost $5 at Home Depot Lexan was scrap Results were cool The first 30 seconds are a walk thru the lineup. tps48
I took this idea one step further a couple of weeks later. We were going down to Cozumel to scuba dive and it hit me that my underwater flashlight was about the same size. So i stripped out the guts and made a mount for the camera inside. It worked great! An underwater video camera housing sells for hundreds of $$$$. My used U/W flashlight was $10 and has a pistol grip. I'll try to post a link later. Not much racing happening here in Germany, lots of snow, maybe ski-cam is next.
TPS70
Hey Mike you should probally spit on the lenz first like you do your scuba mask.
Truck99
A front bumper camera would not have survived on our Super Stock at the recent Stock Car Spectacular. What a race.

hray
A front bumper camera would not have survived on our Super Stock at the recent Stock Car Spectacular. What a race. No use of the chrome horn Chase. Good video though, and surprizingly not a lot of vibration.

97car
I liked it better in the car for the sound. Maybe they should take the DB readings on the front bumper.
