I JUST HOPE WE DONT TURN INTO THE UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF AMERICA. IT SEEMS TO BE THE DIRECTION HE WANTS TO GO BASED ON HIS PAST AND WAYS HE VOTED IN THE SENATE. CHANGE IN THE WRONG DIRECTION IS NOT GOOD CHANGE. MAYBE HE WILL BE A GOOD PRESIDENT, BUT I JUST DONT SEE IT.

I had a cederchoppin' hillbilly redneck racist upbringin' here in the Austin where I have lived my whole life...and I just turned 52. I'm glad I didn't carry on that narrow minded way of thinking. I watched the debates, listened to both candidates who had great life stories. Both candidates were much better to me than our last president (who I voted for ;) ). Right now I am feeling very optimistic. It may take some a while to relax and accept our new president but I am very sure he will be a good leader.

I have a buddy who is in Homeland Security tell me I had better buy whatever guns I plan on having as of the 1st of the year now. He says there is "CHANGE" coming and it wont be nice....

Oh, I almost forgot about the whole born in Panama vs Kenya(I mean Hawaii) thing. We thought the Clintons were bad with people showing up missing/dead. It is going to get real interesting.....

And that's typical liberal doctrine ................ Sacrafice the liberties of all to resolve the problems created by the few. :(

they can ban gun sales altogether and that wont mount to a hill of beans to the bad guys ..they will still get em .mexico and other countrys .not to mention kill you over your guns to ...it cannot be controled . look at the young gangsters ..they dont buy them at gun shops goverment .......wake up .leave the rights of good poeple in place . all your going to do is get more poeple killed for the guns that are owned at home ......... and btw i dont own a gun ....havent for 30 years ..

Not sure Nobama could get a change like that into law before Jan 1st. But he was endorsed by gun control groups , so it would not suprise me to see more gun control in near future.

Just hope the State of Texas does not take away conceal carry rights. But if we start to see rights like that

taken away, we can thank all the folks who drank the Obama kool-aid of promises, and to ACORN for taking

millions of your tax dollars only to sign up extra Obama votes.

Just a thought......why do the European nations favor the demise of capitalism and the growth of socialism in this country? As socialism takes a stronger hold in this nation, there will be less and less economic growth. This will mean less and less federal revenue to pay for our military. With our military shrinking,it will be harder and harder to keep that military umbrella up over Europe. That soft socialistic lifestyle some of the other countries currently enjoy will go away when those nations have to actually protect themselves.Keeping a modern military running is very expensive, and there are no countries in Europe that can afford it without doing away with some of their social programs.Look at countries like North Korea and Iran that do have formidable militaries. Now look at how the people on "main street",in those countries, live.

As the lazy people in this country get an easier and easier life....well...good luck to the rest of the world.

Remember....Clinton helped balance the United States bugdet by making major military cut-backs.

Freedom is not free...it is extremely expensive...and not just monetarily...just ask those we honor on this day.

saw this in the sunday paper in the Parade section called IntelligenceReport, talking about the economy. It was titled,"Who America Owes".Talked about the U.S. Government owes $2.67 trillion to foreign governments-20%of our total GDP.Said in coming years a big chunk of our country's wealth will leave our economy and go overseas to pay back the loans.

Countries that own the most U.S. Debt

Japan-$585.9 billion

China-$541 billion

United Kingdom-$307.4 billion

Opec Nations-$179.8 billion

Carribean Banking Centers-$147.7 billion
