RETrott
Unfortunately, a lot of times in those non rollcaged Sprint Cars and Midgets, after a crash, a few repairs and a new but alive driver, it was on to the next race.
Midget 85
Yeah Jim, Those old sprinter bodies made a statement alright. They looked like RACE CARS! As dangerous as they might have been, they were certainly eye pleasing with their craftmanship. #
jakdad
I think A.J. said it best: "take the cages off those cars and those boys will learn how to drive them".
Midget 85
What type of slicks were used on these old sprinters and modifieds in the earlier days?

Midget 85
Buddy, I am sure these old slicks can still be purchased? I have seen some of the classic tire distributors with a drag slick for the street rodder classics that were M&H for the classic look but, not sure what sizes are still available. Any thoughts? mfbarnes
M&H 707's by the looks of them, Run a big Jaloney on the LF to get some stagger. And a Sticky Mickey L-60/15 Lr worked many a time for me. There was a place up in Chattanooga, TN called Coker Tire that still sold all the vintage stuff.
