Anyone ever see a Super Modified Racecar

They visit a couple of local tracks here in NE Ohio several times a year. At Lorain County Speedway, a fast 3/8 mile track, fast time is usually in the 11-second range. Imagine a heat race run in about 1 1/2 minutes! These guys have some serious talent to be able not only qualify one that fast, but to race inches apart from each other at those speeds.

There are some in-car videos on YouTube of Jack Smith running his Super Modified at Sandusky Speedway, a flat 1/2-mile track, and that beast he is driving is going so fast you would swear he was on a 3/8 mile or shorter track.

Those supers are way past stupid fast. They're also the most unforgiving on the smallest wiggle of anything I've seen.Loads of fun to watch if you like good, hard,FAST racing. Wonder how many jet set playboys wound strap they're ass in one of those if thats what a Indy car was?

They raced at our track in South Bend(Ind.) for many years. They eventually priced themselves out of the class(gee there's news!) To say they are scary is an understatement, we had one stick itself in the catch fence one night and hang six foot off the track until they cut it out. Back then they weren't quite the sleek looking things they are nowdays, but still. I guess budman would call them ugly cars.
