after having a wheel seperate on us in opp, we discovered there is a recall on bassett wide 5 4" 4.5" and 5" backspace wheels, chrome and black. there is a date code stamped on the wheel and all wheels between date code 0106 through 0806 are affected. we found 7 wheels that we sent back and they are sending us new wheels free of charge, they even pay the shipping. dont know about any other wheels, but might be a good idea to call bassett and see if your wheels are affected.

Thanks Big John and Reb. Loose wheels are one of the most common hazards you'll find around a race track. Once they become separated from the car, they can become really dangerous missiles. I've seen the damn things jump guard rails and catch fences and go right into the crowd.

Remember at Lowes Motor Speedway several years ago when an wheel with half-shaft still attached got loose and into the crowd? Tragic results!

Anytime you're around a track EVERYONE needs to stay alert at all times for bad stuff that can happen!
