xcellracing
no, they said its been like that the past 4 or 5 races, looks like the fiesta discount and 1.00 dogs beer and pepsi are paying off. like my good friend scott said "he would rather have a quick nickle than a slow dime." It has been paying off for them very full stands and good car count, They have almost turned it around overnight. good job HMP.
NickHolt
A good part of that turn around is due to plain, old-fashioned hard work by the Bakers. And John Mandabach brings a whole lot of common sense and marketing experience and has applied it wisely. And lest anyone get the idea that the Bakers are now getting rich due to the good crowds, remember that they have had to invest a whole lot more than they are getting back to get those folks seated in the HMP grandstands. Eventually, of course, it should all pay off. Nick
landlord
I talked to John last night for a good while and I agree with Nick he is taking a common sense approach to fixing things.(like listening to drivers and fans)Sounds simple but it's working. speed demon 7
Yeah, John has turned things around, but I don't like the big crowds!!! That is 2 races that we had awsome crowds and I had the fastest car, and BROKE while in 2nd place!!! If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any. GREAT JOB John. I had a blast working with you this year.
Houston Motorsports Park
Thanks for the kind words but it really is a team effort by all of us at HMP and quite a few racers in every class. Thank you to everyone who is trying to make it work. For the first time, I am excited about next year's potential on the Speedway. With your continued help and support, I think local short track racing is going to be a top choice for entertainment in Houston in 2008. We have some very exciting announcements coming for next year. Toy box racing
First race at houston, really enjoyed seeing all the fans in the stands. What a great place, even though I had a bad night, look forward to racing there in 08. Thanks to the Bakers.
SASPEEDRACER24
Arthur I feel for ya dude... You might try out for the Astros tho with that pitch of your steering wheel out the car in frustration lol... Keep it up and it will only get better... Know of any goodyear pulloffs around thinking of taking the Thunder Stock down there to play sometime...
speed demon 7
Thanks Marc. I have a few take offs. Mr. Huff sells them for $20 each for our points fund, come on down. Actually, I did pitch for the Astros back in 1999. I will find my picture and post it later. You will like it.

speed demon 7
No photoshop here, this was real. I did try out for the Astros, but I got hurt in camp at college, can't throw anymore. Drayton McClane came down and complimented me on the pitch. It was a STRIKE!!! about 80 MPH and hurt like a bitch
