CommonSenseRacing
Toyota can't be to happy with its association with Michael Waltrip Racing. Good thing Dale J. gets those past champion provisionals, I have the feeling he will be using all 6 of them. If NAPA didn't buys commercial spots in the races, nobody would know they even sponsored a car.
REBELRACER
well they did get a little spot when reuteman crashed............i noticed they added a napa logo to his car next to the dominos logo...........they had to know it would be an uphill climb for them...... abrungot
I really don't think any sponsor would want to have air time.. with the driver nearly if not uncouncious... That was a scary picture... and could have been prevented with a lifting of the throttle.. Biffle lost some points in my book..
RodneyRodriguez
Vickers got a top 10 and a little pub, I still can't get used to Toyota in all-american sport of NASCAR.
SSCHUCK
I'm with you Aaron it's one thing to move someone, but another to turn them into the wall. As far as Toyota racing in Cup goes and if you don't believe me do some checking, the Toyotas are the only cars built here in the good old US.All three of the Chevy,Ford, and Dodge is built outside the good old US. RodneyRodriguez
thats what DW said the other day, I figured he was just being a homer!! Actually I knew that but DW did mention it.

Crazyhorse
but the money still goes over seas and effects our margin of export vs. import sales balance. but i'm for toyota racing cup.........it's not the same old "good ol' boy" sport that alot of people want to take pride in and honor traditions , it is a millionares sport...........owned ,operated and including a majority of cafe lote drinking ,oat bran muffin eating fairy dust sprinklers. .....and i think toyota is alot LOT more all american than the na$car string pullers. -and if mister boogity boogity has any more work done , pretty soon his eyes will be behind his ears. CEL73
What DW said was true... As far as the cars on the race track, the Toyota IS the only car made in the US...
fullview
What DW said was true... As far as the cars on the race track, the Toyota IS the only car made in the US... I believe DW means the street versions of the different makes, but actually all the RACE CAR chassis and bodys are fabricated in the Good Ol' USA team shops, even Toyota's.They use the templates of the different manufactures to make them what they are.Now the engines parts are a whole different story. You know Jack Roush has mentioned how he feels about Toyota coming to Nascar and it didn't look good when his car sent a Toyota into the wall while his other car went on to win it .Have you driven A Ford lately.JMO
CommonSenseRacing
What I was trying to say, I would have thought Toyota would have picked a better driver to partner up with. Take away his 2 Daytona victories and his last name and you'll have a driver that would have been out of a ride 15 years ago. He'd be hanging out with Derick Cope!!! SSCHUCK
Waltrip may not be all that at racing, but as far as promoting he has done well like him or not. I believe that is the difference between him and Cope.At the top it's not always about how you run but how well you are promoting an image just look at Dale Jr.
HiTech
toyota probably figured they needed a big name promoter like mike he doesnt win much but his name is bigger .has all the connections with tv ,has a large sponsor .. and was able to pull in dale and ups .so id say they are smart .atliest for now ....winning races with mike maynot have been thier main goal looking at his past winning record ..
