  1. HEY sam maybe we both need a shot from the flux capacitor lol...but really Richard did not need a lecture on what he did not see the picture shows the truth ..and yes I am one who would love to see old glory back up and running full bore even seeing you behind the wheel would not be bad ..me my time behind the wheel is over .

  2. RICHARD some don't have the capacity to realize the passion you have for this track that's part of human nature ..

i myself did not see anything negative or imply the track was history coming from your post i understood the wording you used ..i noticed f you are not 1000 percent what is perceived as positive post the guard will come out and speak so why post anything bout this track ..not being negative here life is what it is .

SO outside the pundits ill relive some of the past

1961 sitting high up in the stands third row down leaning against the rails looking out into the pits at all those jalopies getting ready to pull out onto the track will forever be planted into my mind ., the smoke coming from the food court the aroma the taste the flavor of popcorn and cotton candy wow ,.this had to be heaven .. its a sad deal that your mind isn't able to remember each aspect of every minute you spent at this track over all those years and maybe its a good thing it cant but every time i looked up at that area that spot over the years it puts a smile on my face and at times sadness .you see i cant see my parents sitting there in person they are gone i can only picture it in my mind .1961 a day i dreamed to someday be able to leave my mark on the wall to feel the heat of the motor the tires the sweat and the hard work it took to do so not knowing if it would come true .till one day taking my girlfriend now my wonderful wife out to cc 1983 .she was hooked and i was too .the first lap i made was something to thrill about ..the last lap i made was something to remember to cherish my son won a championship with me out on the track racing with him .it would take a life time for me to tell all the stories this track has given me cuz it would take that long to remember most of em . i am sorry or sad that every time this track is mentioned on here someone takes the time to find a way to read between the lines and make something out of nothing this is a memory some of us don't want................... thank you Richard for the memories you taped that i own and for your input you have your place in history at cc speedway .......

  3. sometimes it wont catch a code when a problem of certain sensors just gives up like this has ...I found in the distributor when the tang I call it that goes through the cam sensor will warp out of shape over time instead of being a perfect curve .the middle will warp towards the outside of the cam sensor causing it to lose the proper gap between the pick ups ...he can check the gap from the start of the tang as one turns the motor by hand if it is warped in the middle it can keep it from firing .found two distributors having that problem ..

  4. 10 to 12 volts is all you need ... I would clean and check all grounds . the one bolted to your thermostat housing is real important . I have even seen the fuel pump ground being a problem on this system .it is located on most old chevy on the upper frame rail at bout 11 oclock on your left rear tire just sorta have to look for it .. so many things can be the problem on this truck ..sure was glad when chevy got rid of this crappy system for the most part ..it will drive you insane ...

  5. well heck happened to fast to catch it ...have any junk yards around I would get all three parts .module .crank sensor .cam sensor ...... but you can take the ign module to autozone and test it first or check with your local autopart store see if they have the tester ........has this truck given you any issues .like hard to start after running it .does this truck seem to try and start as you release off the start position . maybe just a tad back fire or shimmer ..if so it will be one of two things .cam or crank sensor and both are related .. as old as this truck is it could be one of em ..the cam sensor in the distributor controls spark timing and injector timing ..hate to throw this at you but the pass key could have gone bad .that's another story ..and have you check the fuses ..

  6. the scanner at autozone is hand held and easy enough to use .its a loaner tool so it wont cost you other than a deposit to borrow it .and yes you can check the truck at home just plug it into the ob2 plug right under the stearing wheel turn on the key and follow the directions that come with the scanner ..if the scanner wont light up with key on check for blown fuse on the truck ..

  7. well .. could be ignition module if its spider injector system which it should be it is mounted on the bracket next to the coil .that can be checked at autozone ...or if it is throttle body injected which it should not be that one is under the rotor and can be checked too ..late night so foggy minded here ...common problem with the sound of sputter then died could be one of two possible things here as well .cam sensor and or crank sensor . that will take a bit more work checking out then you may want to miss with ..if you have a friend with a scanner or pay the deposit at autozone which isn't all that cheap but will get all your money back borrow a scanner I will bet it had a code in the system warning you about one or the other ..I could go on with other possible's but that will take a lifetime to explain and would still miss something lol..

  8. the 82 bug was ralph horrine not spelled right raced and owned the 82 bug back when I raced the purple 25 ..then later sold it to terry.. it was owned by Sammy Holland before the other two raced it ..sorta had motor that did not belong in the car at one time 2189 cc Baja motor .all roller ..

  9. Those were just a few I found. My dad informed me that orange 98 was Harold Cope. Lets see 1990 I was an 8 year old running around the playground or playing Track and Field or Donkey Kong in the game room lol.

lol you were probably one of those brats i always stayed clear of when walking by..

  10. hey hey hey ...there is proof of this old man kicking butt ..the purple pinto 25 is me that was my all time favorite car .a piece of throw together car and it won a lot of races /// one of those go anywhere on the track you wanted it too ..to bad it was taken out in 91 on purpose is was too fast and you know .....that pic year was 1990.....joshua was not even a thought .well at least for me anyway .. i have videos of those years ..

  11.

You want a good riverside story, well here you go. When we all went to the dirt all of us ran our asphalt cars. we were lost, but we thought we were fast! Sonny Brown was a pretty sharp promotor, he liked to bring in a name. So about the third week he brought in Tom Williams from schertz, Texas, that was a legit BIG DOG. Tom was in a 70 chevelle and when practice came he run that car high up the bank wide open! the way they used water the track open big valve and drive around the top ,all the water would right to the bottom. So the bottom was a mudhole! The races started and Tom flew low at the top and the heat easily. he was looking like a sure sweep winner. Well a young asphalt driver figured out that if you tippitoed the mud at the bottom just stay hooked then floored on the straights you would go a shorter distance! Well he smoked the field including Sonnys hired star . he stunk up the show! I hate to admit he thought of it before me! His name Law Mikulencakmajek!

The Law was once young and an asphalt racer?

yep and won many a race .

  12. In the case of tps and dwarf,s they are a ton cheaper .but i still love the trucks ..i know this last tps race was down on cars ..mainly blown or broken motors kept some from making it ..one i know is totaled ...i dont see a problem with running special shows for any class . just got to figure out why they have not shown .i would love to move my son up to supers he would love that ..just have a ton of parts to buy to move it up .TIRES .SPRINGS .MOTOR .TRANS ITS AUTO .or sell this new car and buy one more closer to rules ..either way it will cost ...as far as rule changes .thing s come along that were missed in the rules meeting that need to be attended to ..if more than half your field misunderstood a rule if there is a rule when it is not much of a performance issue .its better to fix it in the off season and not make em do it during the season that is with every track ......... john i know what you mean about left side weight rule ..tps has it figured out .one of our cars has 58.left the other runs 55 ...you can feel it ..

  13. ..... Bottom line is.... GET MORE INVOLVED PEOPLE, COME OUT FOR THE MEETINGS, TALK TO THE MANAGEMENT IN PERSON, VOICE YOUR OPINIONS AND CONCERNS.... But that's just my opinion and i could be wrong

well a few drivers team owners have spoken here and it was taken off .by whom dont know yet .why was it spoken here . they have spoken up during meetings .deaf ears, and your wrong you are somebody

  14. Gotta give a big thanks to CC Speedway for the invite and for treating us right. I wish more trucks would want to experience everything that Texas short track racing has to offer.

Also, big thanks to Boyd Motorsports, Jake Wright Motorsports, and Villarreal Racing for adding to the truck purse.

I JUST LOVE THOSE PRETTY WHEELS ...I AM SO SO SO SORRRRRY I DID NOT MAKE IT OVER TO VISIT .I KNOW YOU LOOK FORWARD TO MY VISITS EACH AND EVERY TIME WE ARE AT THE SAME TRACK .. NOW DON'T CHOKE ON YOUR THANK GOD I DID NOT SHOW OK. MY BACK WAS IN NO SHAPE FOR WALKING SO YOU GOT A REPRIEVE ...GLAD YOU MADE IT IS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO WATCH YOU IN ACTION ..SEE YOU IN SA ...
